BY Sakshi | 15 Apr, 2020 | 875 views | 5 min read

So your wedding has been postponed or cancelled for now, and you can't just help think about it. If you were a March bride or are an April or May bride, then we are sure that's all that's been on your mind. But why don't you take a break? We know, it's hard to do that when you're literally stuck at home with not much to do apart from household chores, but at least try! So here are some activities to do at home to distract yourself or take a break from wedding planning and overthinking!

Everyone deserves some time off- even brides-to-be, and especially now! So here are some fun things to do during this time!

Declutter, clean and organise

It's therapeutic, trust us! Whether you want to just clean and or go all Maire Kondo, it's something nice to kill time and feel satisfied at the end too! Whether it's your dresser, your work desk, wardrobe or even your kitchen! If you plan on moving in with your fiancé after the wedding, then this is the perfect time to sort what you need to take and what you need to leave behind!

Cozy up your room or home

Move your furniture around, see what you like better. Use candles, fairy lights, mood lighting to cozy it up and make it even more amazing!

Try your hand at some DIY

If you are good at art, then a good time to resume it again, or if you're not, then try your hand at some DIY- there are so many easy to do things with stuff lying at home too!

Binge watch new or old shows

We are sure you're doing this already, but this is a good time to start binge watching a new show or rewatch one of your old light favourites! But make sure to do it to take your mind off things- so lighten up a heavy show with something light too!

Hone your cooking skills

It's a basic skill everyone should have, and this is a good time to spend in the kitchen to hone your cooking to learn to make something amazing or start baking! You could even sign up for an online cooking class!

Try a new workout or join an online class

This is the perfect time to do that. You might have never found the time to, or might be missing your gym or Zumba class right now, but there are so many options out there right now to start an online class- either to join one or do some home workout with YouTube videos!

Dance it out!

This is also a great stress-buster, especially if you enjoy dancing. Just bust up some tunes, and then, some amazing moves!

Start doing Yoga

Yoga is best done at home, and this is a good time to start it if you've been intending to. There are so many online videos to do it, and if you need some motivation, rope in a Yoga teacher or a buddy to do it over video call with!

Meditate

Doesn't hurt to try, right? There are amazing apps like Calm which teach you guided meditation and just help calm your nerves, which you really need at this time.

Start a new book

We know, no one is gonna deliver a book to your home right now. But start that book you've been meaning to since forever- whether you have it lying at home, or have to read on your Kindle, iPad or phone! Don't like digital reading? Then listen to an audiobook!

Or start a journal

Journaling is very therapeutic too. It gives you a space to write the stress out of your system. Bullet journaling and making your journal all pretty is a nice activity too. You never know, it might stick!

Volunteer and donate

There are so many people who need our help right now, and try doing as much as you can from the comfort of your home or maybe even step out. Give your building watchman a nice home cooked meal or make a financial donation to someone in need- there's plenty to do online.

Shop it out!

We know you can't get your retail therapy right now, but you can always browse and make wish lists to buy later! Just doing that will probably make you feel better :P

Or do a digital detox

If you've always wanted to do this but couldn't do it 'cz of work or other reasons, this is the perfect time to take a break from technology!

Do a cleanse inside out

If you've always wanted to eat clean or do a juice cleanse, this is the time!

Spend some time on caring for your skin and hair

Try new skin and hair packs and pamper yourself- you have lots of time to do it!

Give yourself a manicure and pedicure

It's not as hard to do it at home as it sounds. Clean and paint those nails!

Prep for your new home

If you guys are shifting into a new place after your wedding, then there are loads of things which will have to be done. Start making to do lists, shopping wish lists and all to make life easier for yourself later on.

Connect with your groom virtually!

We are sure he's bummed too! Make sure you still get closer during this separation and we are sure when this is all over you'll really cherish spending time in person together!

And don't forget his family!

Use this time to connect with them too, whether you've already known them or are getting to know them. Stay in touch and bond well.
