From the bride: I tied the knot on 1st Dec, and our mehendi event was completely conceptualized by me and my sister who took up quite a lot of effort. With the help of our friends we could execute it well -so we did some budgeting and helped dad to save on expenses for at least the mehendi function
We have been always creating backdrops every year for Ganpati festival at my place. So, we decided to not hire anyone for mehendi and eventually got the decor done ourselves, in our backyard. We use colored paper fans to create a backdrop for the chair where I sat, and we added a few details around the area. A chalkboard sign which said "Wishing tree" where guests could write wishes for us. We even had an 'Advice' section where we hung cards from the trees and let our friends and family give us advice. Apart from this we printed out our own photo booth props with placards and sayings.
We always envisioned for a wedding decor start up , but its not as easy as it sounds as I have a job I cant quit (WMG Tip: Girl, you need to leave that job and start RIGHT NOW. There are n't too many affordable but classy decorators out there) For my outfit, I gave my own design and bought a mango yellow and pista green fabric and gave it to my tailor. If you give him fabrics and designs, he executes them well :)Vendors: Photography: Anoop Padalkar | Makeup : Varsha Gidwani | Bridal Outfits : Designed by bride and executed by Kamlesh master 91-9324341851 | Decor & Planning: DIY [handbook] [vendor]
