When we first saw Komal's bridal entry picture on Instagram, we couldn't help but fall in love with her look and her outfit! I mean it was definitely one of those colour combination to look out for, 2019 brides! She looked absolutely ethereal, don't you agree? Well, it was not just her bridal outfit, but everything she chose to wear on her functions. And to add to that the stunning decor at each of her functions was also just perfect! Komal planned her entire wedding from US, with just 4 visits to India in a year, and we are amazed with her skills. This was one wedding where we couldn't help but bookmark each image, thanks to the gorgeous photography by Shades Photography and the picture-perfect location of the Leela, Goa!
Meet Komal & Rachit
Komal tells us how she and Rachit lived in the same city yet never met their entire life, and then one chance encounter and it was like they were meant to be, "Rachit and I are originally from Dubai. We were raised in Dubai but we didn't go to the same high school or even know each other then. I moved to the US when I was 17 for college and I have been there since. In 2013, when I was in Dubai for a year, I met Rachit at work! After a year, I decided to head to New York for my MBA, and Rachit followed me two years later... and the rest is history!"

Rachit and I always wanted a beach wedding and we knew it would be in India given most of our extended families are there. My parents are from Mumbai while his are from Delhi so we wanted to pick a location that would not be in either cities. Given this, we picked Goa! It was hard for us to decide a venue (and plan the wedding) as we were in New York and our parents were in Dubai. I made 4 trips to India in a year to finalize the venue, menu, our outfits, my jewelry... the list goes on. We were so thrilled about the Leela Goa - it is a fabulous property! We got the best service and support from them during our wedding. It was a little crazy to plan our wedding and coordinate with our vendors from the US but we would wake up really early or stay up really late just so that we could talk to our vendors and make sure things were on track. We were so happy to have our guests fly in from all over the world to make this such a memorable day for us.
Shades Photography (*****)- Absolutely the best! Ashwin & Jhalak are not only super talented but really great and humble! They were like family to us during our wedding and made sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. They brought an army of people to make sure they got the best shots for our wedding. Very rarely do you see a personal connection with your vendors, these guys are our friends for life! :) Thank you so so much!
Purple Tree Events Solution (*****) - Nafisa and her team (Nutan & Dhiren) were so flexible and accommodating with our schedules and our requests! I wouldn't have done it any other way. They made sure to stick to our budget and at the same time not compromise what we envisioned for our wedding. Typically, planners do not share an itemized list of the decor elements and I was very surprised that Nafisa was able to do that. I loved the thoroughness and detail in everything they did - from quotations, presentations to the final output. Nafisa and her team are extremely hardworking, efficient and timely. It is always refreshing to have your vendors be on top of it, the team was always ready with a plan B! Thank you for everything and making our dream wedding come true.
Pink Whistle Man (*****)- Ranjani is truly awesome! She not only designed invitations but also gift hampers, party favors and our itinerary for us. I happen to meet Ranjani in New York while she was here during the summer and this really helped as we could work around the designs at the same time zone! She worked around the clock to make sure the designs were up to my liking - and she did all this with a smile. She truly enjoys her work and will go to any extent to make sure her clients are happy. I love her efficiency, attention to detail and her creativity. I will definitely be reaching out to her for my future invitations/stationery need. Thank you for everything, Ranjani!
