A Gorgeous Day Wedding With The Bride In An Offbeat Hued Silk Saree

BY Aakanksha | 12 Jul, 2019 | 3467 views | 4 min read

A gorgeous ceremony and even lovelier romance, Abilasha & Nivashan are totally giving us #weddinggoals. Their story is as cute as ever and proves that you can meet your soulmate anywhere, and their wedding celebrations were equally pretty. Abilasha wore a beautiful pastel shade saree with the offbeat combination of baby blue and bright pink. It was quite refreshing to see a bride wear such pretty colours. They got married in Hawaii, but in tune with their customs and traditions. Meew Meew Studios did an awesome job of capturing their best moments!

Meet Abilasha & Nivashan

Abilasha tells us the coincidences under which they met and their love story, "We meet on an Uber pool in November 2016 in Chicago. We started chatting on the 15 min ride to work. I was attending a conference in the same building that his office is at. We exchanged numbers at the end of the ride and then met for coffee a week later. We would meet occasionally as friends for a few months and then we started dating in Feb 2017. In Feb 2018 we got engaged and now we got married in Hawaii in April 2019. I am originally from Bangalore, India and moved to the US to study mechanical engineering. I have been living here for 10 years and currently work in Chicago. My husband is from South Africa. His family relocated to South Africa from India 5 generations ago but ethnically his family is from the same Village as my father in India. He moved to Australia when he was 10 years old and grew up there. He then moved to China for work and finally moved to Chicago in 2015. We joke that he travelled the world only to find a girl from his village in a taxi ride. It was like lightening struck when we met and it felt like it was always meant to be."

The Wedding

From The Bride:

Our wedding planner made our dreams come true - “Mira Savara events”. She is the person to go to organize and plan an indian wedding in Hawaii. She made all Our visions turn into reality. Traditional South Indian wedding in Hawaii. Friends and family travelled from India, Australia, South Africa and US to attend our wedding. We wanted to make sure they learn about our culture fused with Hawaiian customs. We had the below events:

1. Haldi on April 14

2. Mehendi on April 15 morning in Nivs house

3. Sangeet night and luau on April 15 evening at Moana oceanfront lawn

4. Wedding ceremony on April 17 morning followed by lunch at Royal Hawaiian ocean lawn

5. Reception at April 17 evening at Royal Hawaiian lawn and ballroom for dinner.

Vendor Reviews:

Royal Hawaiin is a beautiful venue and the most romantic place to get married at. A must recommended place if you are getting married in Hawaii!

Leslie Fair Hawaii did a very natural make up to match my personality, and made sure I looked like myself at my functions.

Meew Meew Studios are such fun to shoot with! They understood our love, our chemistry and captured it beautifully. Their photography represented our love story in the best light possible.

Needle Eye Bangalore were matched up the colours of my outfits with the decor. Their outfits have so much detailing and such beautiful intricate work.
