A Rustic Chandigarh Wedding with an Earthy Charm

Truth be told: Very few things match up to an old school, earthy wedding set in the smaller towns of Punjab with their generous smattering of sunshine yellow, vintage jewelry and colorful parandis sashaying in the air. Packed with a punch of heavy bright outfits and a bride blessed with the brightest smile ever, this wedding makes you want to keep your designer labels aside for a while and watch as the evergreen gota's and phulkari's spin their magic far and wide. Shot by Vijay Sharma Photography, this one's a visual treat.

Meet Avneet & Parvinder

They were both registered to the same marriage bureau. After their first meeting itself, they both knew that this is it and broke the news to their parents! "I was a little skeptical cause my parents were looking for a family of officers while Parvinder belonged to a business cum political background" says Avneet. But as luck would have it, the parents happened to really get along and it was a yes! Although the two didn't really have a long courtship period but the glint in their eyes tells me that love is already blooming in full swing. <3

The Sangeet

The Wedding

From the bride: I made sure that I was personally involved in all the preparations for my wedding and even traveled to Jaipur once. The Mehendi and Sangeet took place at Ferozpore district in a town located nearby (Guruharsahai). I can call myself the decorator cause I had a vision of all I wanted on my big day, planned it to the T and just hired local guys to do it up :) A special thanks to Vijay Sharma for being a thorough professional. I would highly recommend him for his work, punctuality and cooperation throughout the functions. And for all the other brides to be out there, I would just say that it's just about putting in a little bit of extra effort and you can make your dream wedding happen!
