A Stunning Mumbai Wedding And A Fairytale Story Come To Life

BY Aakanksha | 15 Apr, 2019 | 4224 views | 4 min read

We've all grown up on some fairytale or the other and always dreamed of finding our perfect soulmate. Well, when you do find one, this is what it looks like. Tanushree got married to her childhood sweetheart and the celebrations were nothing short of magical. They chose to get married in a quiet, intimate ceremony in San Francisco, and then flew down to India to celebrate their union. From the gorgeous pink and blue saree Tanushree wore on her wedding to the stunning decor at each of her functions, we loved everything about this wedding! And 10 points to Richa Kashelkar Photography★ 5 and Humayun Khan for capturing all those moments in a splendid manner!

Meet Tanushree & Shreeraj

Tanushree and Shreeraj have known each since forever and there's a love story custom-made for Bollywood! Tanushree tells us, "We've been in the same school since the age of 4. We didn't actually date or like each other till we were 21. We reconnected over dinner with some friends and have been together ever since."

From The Bride:

Being a wedding photographer myself, I sort of knew exactly what I wanted or at least who I wanted to incorporate in making our day perfect. We did the registration in San Francisco City hall; just us and two friends who are basically family. It was intimate, stunning and took all of 10 minutes. Basically perfect. The wedding celebrations in India were a bit bigger. We ended up having a small mehendi at the banquet hall in Shreeraj's building on the evening before the wedding (Friday) so that all the close family and friends could meet and catch up over chaat, biryani and some singing and dancing. We shut the mehendi down by 10-10:30pm so everyone could get some rest. The wedding ceremony was the next morning and made for some amazing photos in the day light. After a small break in the afternoon we had the reception in the evening. Sunday night we threw the cocktail and sangeet. It wasn't the conventional way of doing things but it was perfect because everyone could let their hair down and not be worried about another function. We could do this also because it was the 30th of December and most people had the day off on 31st.

I had amazing experiences with everyone. Our food came from Mini Punjab which was really amazing and we've got some crazy compliments about it. We also had Sharma Chaat from Juhu for the mehendi and they did a fab job too. Devika Narain and co made my life so much easier just by being there for me throughout. They were also super innovative and made designs come to life. Meghna Butani and her team took care of hair, make up and draping and I literally didn't have to worry about anything. I would just go sit there till they said I was done and leave for the event. Humayun Khan is an amazing photographer and he took care of all the crowd photos for me. He's like a one man army. All my vendors were super and I'm really grateful for them. I would like to give future brides a heads up; if you can order your outfits ahead of time, do it as early as possible. And keep a buffer of 15 days. So if you need to wear it on the 20th, ask for it to be ready on the 5th. saves you from a lot of drama.
