Beauty and skincare has gotten more costly as GST rates for salons and beauty centres has gone up to a whopping 28% (from an existing 15%) . So make sure you check with them before you book appointments! Even products will get expensive so better start calling friends abroad to pick up your beauty stash.
Clothes
Clothes are more expensive too. Designer outfits are now taxed at 28%, and tailored outfits (read: customised lehengas) are taxed at 18%. Ready made garments havent really changed as much.
Courier Services
You might want to keep this in mind before you courier out your invites and wedding gifts or favors. They will get costlier as the current service tax of 15 per cent will be replaced with 18 per cent GST

If you are planning to host lunches or cocktail parties at restaurants before the wedding, the bad news is that the GST applied on them just went up from the existing slab rate!
