An Intimate Central Park Wedding In The Rain!

BY Sakshi | 13 Aug, 2021 | 1042 views | 3 min read

This is a wedding as simple as it can be- but there's just something so nice about it! There's nothing fancy here - the venue is Central Park in New York, there's no elaborate decor, no trailing gowns or lehengas, and it's even raining, but the wedding is all about celebrating two people madly in love, and that's what makes it so special! Tanya and Pranoy's cute little wedding had all the feels, and we love how it looked just like wedding in the finale of Gossip Girl- call it wishful thinking, but the bride had wanted a wedding just like that when she was a teen back in India! Now isn't that adorable?

Meet Tanya and Pranoy

We met at a Corporate Event in India in 2013. Dated and then Pranoy was leaving for Chicago Booth for an MBA in 2016, so had a very Bollywood Love Aaj Kal Story! I relocated to New York eventually and he proposed to me in Seattle in Dec 2019 by making me solve image puzzles. Pranoy had seen me solving the Casper image puzzle ads in the New York Subway and had been so impressed he decided to propose in a similar way. He sketched a series of clues that popped the question. Luckily, I was able to solve his puzzle and she said yes!

From The Couple:

We got married in Oct'20 in Central Park, New York. A wedding in Central Park was not our first choice. Like so many couples last year, we were forced to change our plans. We were planning to go home to New Delhi in India for a 400 person wedding in December and I had bought my Sabyasachi lehenga for that function too. This obviously couldn’t happen due to Covid 19, so we briefly considered a smaller wedding with just immediate family, still back home in India, but we knew this may still be risky for our loved ones. Since we decided to get the legal wedding formalities out of the way before heading to India, a wedding in NY was the obvious choice. My sister reminded me that I apparently said I also want a Central Park wedding when I saw the last episode of Gossip Girl and saw the main characters getting married there. Sitting in Delhi at that time with no plans of relocation to NY, little did I know that all the externalities around us will lead us here.
