Dubai Wedding At The Versace Palazzo With A Beautiful Anand Karaj!

BY Latha Sunadh | 05 Feb, 2018 | 4032 views | 4 min read

Japinder & Harpreet's Palazzo Versace Hotel wedding is larger than life for many reasons - the hotel itself, a 17th-century architecture-inspired ballroom gown with a 5-meter trail, a yacht Mehendi ceremony, a 6-foot Versace cake and a huge rose petal shower from a helicopter for a few minutes. Photography by The Wedding Salad★ 4.9 The Wedding Salad★ 4.9  was as candid as they come!

Meet Japinder & Harpreet

"We met through Harpreet's mom and absolutely connected with comfort and excitement both, right from the first moment.
The proposal was a very serene one at Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Delhi, on a chilly morning at 3 am" explains Japinder.

From The Bride:

It took a year of planning and all credit of organizing and setting the scene goes to goes to Tarnpreet (bride's brother)  and Versace for its sheer elegance and luxury experience which is unmatched for anywhere in the world. This one was a 1000-plus guest, 3-day wedding at Palazzo Versace Dubai.

The Outfits

As for the outfits, each of the designers was a good friend of Japinder and personally understood her vision to create the exact look she wanted. Everything worked in utmost accordance with Japinder's personality and not just on-going trends.

The Ring Ceremony had a 17th-century architecture-inspired scallop handwork ballroom gown with a 5-meter trail. Dar Sara High Fashion (dear friends of Japinder, Fadi and Jihan) worked 24/7 around the clock to create this masterpiece in less than a month. "The idea was to have the biggest princessy moment of Japinder's life where she could never look back and wonder if she could have worn a longer trail," says Jihan from Dar Sara.

Mehendi was on a yacht and had a sun-kissed theme so Japinder went with the usual yellow and henna colors such as deep green.   3-D peacocks and millions of sequins took Shaveta and Anuj from Dubai about 6 months to complete as each thread was hand-woven and adorned with tanzanites - this completed this traditional yet modern look. Though the pictures might not show it in all its glory, this was a 20 kg lehenga with matt-gold dabka work which Japinder carried off with immense ease.

For the Baraat, Manish Malhotra himself sat with the bride and sketched out her vision - a never-seen-before bridal look with a crown. Manish designed a deep purple badla-work lehenga to contrast with Farah Khan Ali's deep maroon rubies (at a whopping 175 carat) which Japinder's mom had got designed for her. The lehenga also showed off a handsome trail with swarovski, tassels and sequins. Japinder completed this look with an ivory chura (that is a heritage piece from her mother's collection) and almost floor-touching gold kaleere.

Being an early morning Laavan, Japinder chose Coral as her colour and Pakistan's designer icon, Faraz Manan customized this look for her. Going with a more traditional look, Japinder didn't want to wear a lehenga at the Gurudwara and opted for a more conservation Sharara which was also a fresh breath of air, with long sleeves, knee length kurta (with a long trail behind) and gold embellished Sharara and dupatta and a very heavy Polki set (over 120 carats) with real Burmese rubies and Zambian emeralds. The set and tikka were made to match the work on Faraz's Sharara and the whole look was delicate, floral and fresh. The makeup, The bride opted for absolutely light and natural make up with no contouring.

The Memorable Moments

For the first dance where the entry was with an imitation snowfall and low fog on orchestra- the first dance happened on Janam Janam from Dilwale (Japinder's favorite). The wedding also had 25 L champagne popping all night, aerialist dancers, belly dancers, bhangra troops, glitter portrait painters, a 6-feet Versace Cake, 10-carat wedding ring, ice sculptures, candlelit decor, snowfall imitation, performances by Bollywood stars such as Sophie Chowdhary, Meet Broz and more.

We had some fun moments too when Tarnpreet, the bride's brother was on the walkie-talkie with the helicopter pilot on the exact coordinates for the rose petal shower. It was all about the tiny details and how they all came together to create this wedding.
