Gorgeous Sikh Wedding With The Bride In An Offbeat Silhouette

BY Aakanksha | 03 Sep, 2020 | 10312 views | 3 min read

When we first saw the gorgeous details from Mitika's Anand Karaj, we were floored, and when we saw her full outfit, we were pleasantly surprised. It's not everyday you see a bride don a traditional colour but a unique silhouette. She wore red, but her outfit was a plain lehenga accentuated by a banarasi jacket and she completed the look with a satlada. It was different and Mitika pulled it off with grace and elegance. Add to that the stunning bridal details captured by Beginnings For You★ 4.8 , and this Chandigarh wedding clearly became a favourite!

Meet Nripjit & Mitika

The Mehendi

The Wedding

From The Bride:

We were very clear on the fact there has to be lots of drinking and dancing at all our functions. We wanted to let our hair down and enjoy. For this reason, our guest list was just close friends and family on all our pre wedding functions. The wedding and the reception were more grand in terms of guests. Having intimate functions gave us a lot of time with family in those days which we both wanted. Not just us, our families had a great time at the wedding too it was great seeing them in the spirit of celebrations having so much fun. Our pre-wedding functions were not common, so we both had different visions for them. Nripjit was very clear that for his wedding he wants to stick to traditional Indian outfits. I, was also very clear about what I wanted for each event,I did not want to wear anything too heavy or jazzy. For haldi we both wore shades of yellow. For mehendi I wanted to break away from greens so I chose a lehenga in soft pink. Nripjit wore a green kurta pyjama with a mustard and green dupatta. For sangeet I wanted something in phulkari so I wore a garara with phulkari on it. Nripjit chose a beige kurta with peach Nehru jacket and a black kani shawl. For the wedding, I always wanted to wear a banarasi outfit, so I picked a long jacket lehenga in dark maroon, which suited the extreme cold weather. Nripjit wore a dull gold sherwani to compliment my outfit. My reception outfit was my mom-in-law’s suggestion, and I absolutely loved it, it was a dull gold lehenga with colourful patchwork and Nripjit wore a black bandhgala.

Beginnings For You
We loved having Simran for our wedding. Love her punctuality and professionalism. She managed to capture all the tiny details of our wedding effortlessly. Simran and her team were very clear on their roles and this resulted in great pictures . Every time I look at my wedding pictures I relive those moments because it’s that nicely captured.
