How To Rock A Bridal Hairband!

BY Sakshi | 14 Sep, 2019 | 3177 views | 3 min read

The hairband is an accessory that one doesn't really associate with a typical Indian bride. Christian brides wear it all the time, and it does look amazing, but with the typical lehenga-dupatta look, not so much. But like we said, brides these days are pushing the boundaries, and wearing a bridal hairband is a cool way to do that, and that too, for any function of the wedding- from the mehendi to the cocktail or sangeet and even the wedding!

Here's how to rock a hairband as a bride at any wedding function!

Mehendi

When it comes to the Mehendi, this is the time when you can really experiment with a hairband. This bride here wore one which looked like jewellery with some enamel work, and it gave her such a modern vibe!

From picking something in gota work to even mirror work like this bride, one can make anything work on a fun function like the mehendi.

Another great option for brides for the mehendi is to go down the floral route. While floral wreaths have sort of become cliche, something new like this can really work!

The bride is wearing a wreath made of baby's breath, but it comes on her head like a hairband!

Wedding

When it comes to the wedding, it can be a little tricky to rock a hairband, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. This bride here rocked a bridal hairband which looked like jewellery, and it does look really nice.

This Pakistani bride here wore a gorgeous metallic hairpiece with her open hair, which gave her such a unique bridal look!

Another nice option for brides looking to rock a hairband on their wedding day would be to consider a zardozdi hair or headband. One more new trend we spotted was of this mathapatti meets hairband style, which is quite unique and apt for the wedding.

However, this bride here chose to go for an Indo-western look, and customised a hairband matching the work on her outfit instead of a tiara to keep her veil in place.

Her hairband had the same embroidery on it as the gown and it blended beautifully with the dupatta! So if a veil is something you plan to carry, then this can be a nice way to keep it in place.

Sangeet or Cocktail

If you plan on wearing a gown, then the right hairband obviously will go with it, else you can pick something like this with pearls in it, which can go with a lehenga too!

Looks dainty right?

Reception

Deepika Padukone rocked a hairband with her reception lehenga which was a floral Sabyasachi, and she kept it edgy with a veil and a hairband made of fresh roses!

So, what do you think? Is this a trend you'd like to replicate at your wedding?
