Lately, it's been raining Thailand destination weddings and we have seen ideas go from minimalist to spectacular and this South-Indian Thai fusion wedding is another that we are so excited about. This big fat Kerala wedding of Sasikala, a Dubai-based businesswoman, and Britto, an engineer, was held in Phuket with a unique theme called the Cherry Blossom. Sounds like a lotta fun, right? Well, we loved how South-Indian elements are expertly woven into the rituals and all in all, made it a rather unique one. The venue, Dusit Thani Laguna, Phuket was a winner on all counts with stunning views while photography by Destination Photographers took it up a notch!

We had more than 500 guests, over 40 artists and three days of celebrations at this wedding with celebrities like Narain, Jojo, Martin Prakkat, Liberty Basheer, Renjith Pauland and others. This massive wedding was handled by Rainmakers Event Company who fused both Malayalee and Thai elements at the wedding. The wedding had the flavour of Naushad’s famous biriyani and traditional Kerala sadhya - now that's a coup because chefs were flown straight from Kerala for the catering.
The Daawat-e-Mehendi saw the Serng Kratip Khoa performers – North Eastern Thai long drum musicians and dancers do their jig. That was great fun alongside another exciting South Indian Sangeet night that we had called the "Why This Kolaveri Nite" where guests were dressed in specially imported Sri Lankan lungis, sunshades and half-saris. The band Thaikkudam Bridge and a specially orchestrated ensemble by Stephan Devassy were the highlights of this soiree. The wedding too had elements of both Kerala and Thai alongside a Cherry Blossom-themed Sakura Ball that completed the grand event.
