Intimate South Indian Wedding With A Bride Who Wore Fairy Lights On Her Hair

BY Swagata Dam | 22 Aug, 2022 | 2025 views | 3 min read

In today's world, where almost everything has be 'Insta-worthy', planning a great wedding is nothing less than an art. And the artist for Poojitha and Shiva's beautiful nuptial ceremonies was none other than the bride herself. From deciding the themes and color schemes to DIYing it up and adding a personal touch to everything - she planned her wedding to the t and with a lot of heart.

Naturally, it translated into something extremely magical and priceless. The events were an aesthetic blend of modern as well as traditional elements. It truly was the best of both worlds. But what we are digging the most about this shaadi happens to be the bride's super cool hair accessories. She even wore fairy lights on her hair for her Cocktail night. How fun is that?!

Meet Poojitha and Shiva

"I got married to the love of my life, Shiva, on February 10th, in Dripping Springs, Texas. We've been together for 8 years, and it was so special getting married amongst the closest of our family, friends and puppers," shares the bride.

From The Bride:

We had the most fun for an entire two days; Starting with the Mehendi and flowing through the cocktail party, Haldi, Pellikoduku, Pellikoothuru events and finally the wedding! It was an intimate wedding where everyone truly celebrated our union with happy tears.
I planned our entire wedding, picked specific color concepts, took care of every small detail to make sure our wedding would be extra special and unique to our personalities! We went with my favorite Boho theme for all the events. Day one started with a Boho Mehendi, evening was a Starlit Soirée/Cocktail Party where we went Boho glam. Second day began with Haldi and we picked a White, Powder blue and Yellow theme. We then had a pastel based Pellikoduku and Pellikoothuru events. For the final Wedding, we picked the traditional Red and Gold! For each event, I wore an animal/living being somewhere for the groom to guess. For the Mehendi - I wore fireflies in my hair, and put a firefly on the groom’s shirt. For the cocktail - I wore lionesses on my neck and ears, and I put a lion lapel pin on the groom’s blazer. To jazz up my look, I DIY-ed my light up sneakers and added fairy lights in my hair. For Haldi - I wore elephant jewelry gifted by my girlfriends. Pellikoothuru event - I wore honey bees on my hand. Pradhanam- I wore holy cow pins in my hair. For the wedding - since our hashtag was SiThaKalyanam - I wore golden deers on my blouse and my veil.
