“Traditional invites never go out of style but gone are the days when you got cards with bright Indian colours. People are opting more for warmer shades which create equal drama.

Secondly, floral invites are still in trend. It’s evolving from a burst of floral shades to subtle yet dramatic ones. It’s all shifted from roses & lilies to chrysanthemums, tuberoses & baby's breath flowers.

The most recent trend is Postcard invites that focus on the destination of the wedding or a memorable place for the couple is something people are really opting for. From a wedding in Calcutta with Howrah bridge & Victoria Memorial skyline to Paris, where the bride was proposed in the most dramatic way. We create memories that would stay with the bride & groom forever.”

The one trend we are seeing is using durable/ reusable materials for the invitation. We have experimented with creating wedding boxes made of wood, acrylic, cloth envelopes, etc. that guests can keep and reuse for years after the wedding! It adds more value to the gifts one is giving along with their invites, we feel.

Matching event favours is another upcoming trend. Invitations are all about creating an experience for the guests. While the invitations set the tone for the look and feel for the entire wedding, it’s also great if the theme is carried forward to little trinkets and favor bags at the venue that people can carry back with them. It would not only add a unique and thoughtful touch, but also will be memorable for your guests.

And lastly, go for interesting shapes, unusual colour combinations, folds, unique styles of opening! Wow your guests by adding a surprise element to your invitations wherever possible and they are sure to swoon over your invites for years to come.”

Turmeric Ink Invitations and Stationery★ 4.6 says

“The one trend we love and are seeing everywhere is the caricature invite. A fun and quirky invite which calls for a use of bright and bold colours. The bejewelled bride & groom adorn the jacket top while the baraat procession is depicted on inside of the jacket. Different set of caricatures are used to best portray the corresponding event.

The Saptpadi Invite is the next one. The invite is inspired from the seven vows taken by the bride & groom during a Hindu wedding ceremony. The seven vows and the function names are further hand calligraphed.

A Meenakari Invite, inspired from Meenakari, which is a traditional Indian art of ornamenting a surface with brilliant colours. An intricate pattern of bright colours adorns the box top treated in a way to provide it an appearance of a gem stone studded surface. Thick gold brick inserts are placed inside which depicts opulence in every way.

The Summer Palace invite is inspired from the Great Indian Palaces and the grandeur of their gardens. The combination of subtle colours against the ivory background, the use of intricate and embellished patterns and the shades of gold, all collectively add to provide the invite the royal touch.”

Diksha Mehta Invites★ 5 says

" One of our favourites is the Intricate laser cut detailing on the card. Its modern, delicate and beautiful.

Another trend we are noticing is the request for teal colour invites. The colour is refreshing, calming and sophisticated and this colour will never fade out for any wedding season. It gives the feeling of wholeness when used as is with other colour combinations.

The other trend is that a lot of clients are opting for a combination of earthy, floral and ethnic. They want a little bit of everything which is fun as well as keeps the traditional design that everyone loves!"
