This quaint little North-east wedding dropped on our doorstep,  with outfits that were a far cry from the cookie cutter ones,   a pink and yellow theme , and a couple that looks adorable together . An off-beat Bong wedding if you may  that has been captured beautifully by ArtFoto Weddings.

Meet Neha & Nikhil

"I've known my husband for 10 years now. We dated as kids but after 4 years of dating moved our separate ways! Destiny bought us back together after 4 years and we decided to spend the rest of our lives together. Our wedding date, i.e 24.5.2014 coincidentally happens to be the date we met for the first time in our lives, ten years ago!" says Neha exuberantly.

The Wedding

From the bride:

I wanted it to be a close-knit wedding in Shillong with our close family and friends attending all the functions! I am from Kolkata and my Husband   and his entire family is based in Shillong. I had cousins here and I would frequently visit as a kid and fell in love with this place and the people here! When we decided to get married I knew at once I wanted to get married here instead of Kolkata.

Shillong being a small town, we had chefs come in from Amritsar, Chandigarh, Delhi and Bombay to assist the already set catering team! As far as the decor was concerned - apart from a vibrant mehendi setup with flower balls, a 30-foot-high wedding pandal was set up during the wedding day. I loved it. "Our photographers, Art Foto Weddings are a great team - it was excellent working with them and we were very happy with the end result! Our wedding movie bought us to tears. They were really enthusiastic and very well-coordinated! It was a fun experience and they were really easy-going and happily incorporated whatever we wanted!" she adds. "All My outfits were from Anamika Khanna! Being a Fashion Designer by profession, I was working With Anamika Khanna as a part of her design team and I absolutely love her design sensibility. I knew exactly what I wanted! My Mehendi outfit was an off-white Lehenga with red and green thread work on it! I didn't want to much bling in it. It had a 25-metre ghera which gave it a very royal look!" I didn't want to wear a conventional red lehenga on the wedding day which is why Anamika Khanna suggested this light yellow- mustard Lehenga with a soft pink organza veil and dupatta with dull gold work all over!"
