Beautiful Goa Sunset Wedding With a Touch of Vintage!

What happens when tradition and fun collide? A super fun wedding that made our groggy Saturday morning so much brighter. Sunset on the beach,  with a minimalis turquoise mandap and vintage decor set off beautifully against Anushka's stunning  fuschia lehenga. We love. "Hiteshwar and I met in school and have been dating since Grade 9. The first time I saw him was when he walked in our classroom and came and sat on the seat right in front of me. Little did I know that he was going to end up being my first and last boyfriend. What started as a high school romance turned out to unfold as quite the love story thereafter. We dated for a period of over twelve years... before he proposed last year. The proposal was a complete surprise, he proposed to me on a boat in the middle of the sea. In fact at the same venue where we got married earlier in the year" explains Anushka.

 

         

              

  

       

"The Mehendi was by the sea - the colour theme for that was lemony yellows, cooling greens & blushing peach. The decor was all in pastel shades with fun props and we had a special dance from the bridesmaids who were all in matching outfits. The  theme for the cocktail was red carpet night - glitzy, glamorous with red carpet style dressing. Hiteshwar and I danced on 'Thinking Out Loud by Ed Shereen" says Anushka.

"The wedding was done in a complete vintage-inspired way. We had birdcages/ candles, white chairs down to the mandap. The baraat made their entry on Royal Enfield bikes, while Hiteshwar entered in a jeep. I was absolutely certain that I wanted a sunset wedding. So much so that I was practically running while making my entry coz I didn't want to miss the sunset. This was followed by drinks, dinner & dancing with a band. The highlight was a speech given by my father which had everyone in tears" adds Anushka.

"As for my clothes,  I was certain I wanted to wear Anamika Khanna for my Mehendi for which I specially flew down to Kolkata and got my entire outfit customised. For the cocktails red carpet night. I didn't want to wear a typical Indian gown so it was the champagne colour Shantanu & Nikhil gown that made me feel like a complete princess. All my accessories from the hand cuff to hair clips was customized to go with the outfit. For the wedding, I knew I didn't want to wear red and the outfit had to have an element of pop and contemporary-ness. The pop pink with lots of gold is exactly what I had always visualized. We again worked on getting the lehenga customized, changing one of the dupattas to a slimmer stole and the waist belt with the lehenga. The matha patti was a complete favourite with everyone and my mom and I worked on it for almost four months to get it to be perfect. Hiteshwar wore Sabyasachi on the wedding as well and huge efforts were made to make sure his saafa and stole match the exact colour of my lehenga" added Anushka.
