Just yesterday we were talking about new themes that couples should try  and almost as if the universe were hearing our thoughts, this gorgeous forest Woodland wedding landed right in our lap. With a setup that looks like its out of a storybook, Jonathan & Subhashree had a multi-cultural wedding in the hills amidst beautiful flora and fauna. The lake and the forest along with the views of the hills made for a magical setting and these two further enhanced it by adding quaint elements and two weddings - each as pretty as the next, to it. And all this beauty was photographed to picture-perfect awesomeness by Arjuns Tryst with the Camera★ 4.8 .

Meet Jonathan & Subhashree

"Jonathan and I met at work, back in 2003. We don't have a dramatic story and there isn’t a specific time or place I could pick out to illustrate that one single moment we fell in love. Instead, everything sort of flowed from a slow acknowledging of each other, to a growing and deepening friendship, to the eventual awareness that we’d become very important to each other," adds Subhashree.

The Christian Wedding

From The Bride: "We both wanted a simple, understated & intimate gathering in the hills. Both of us were pretty keen on a ‘woodland wedding’ theme, and so, we planned and shortlisted vendors, venues, decor and menus accordingly. As a venue, The Lake Resort in Naukuchiatal was perfect— it’s easy enough to get to, and, flanked by the Naukuchiatal Lake and the woods, the property offered private access to both. The idea was to take inspiration from the expansive, beautiful nature around us. Once the venue was decided, the rest of the aspects— the décor, the menu, the events— had a perfect setup to be executed in — the Mehendi would be a BBQ & punch affair, with waffles and spit-roasted lamb. There was beer pong and limbo and the splash zone— casual, relaxed games that fit the ambience. The cocktail had a laid back, rustic vibe, with an Indian menu and a teal and purple theme with lots of lanterns. The Hindu ceremony - a sunny daytime event set against the background of the lake, with a mandap constructed of twigs and strung genda and a traditional pahadi lunch with lots of Bhang ki chutney!" explains Subhashree. "The Christian ceremony took place in the woods, set within a clearing, under a chandelier. We exchanged rings and vows surrounded by paper butterflies, fairy lights and the forest floor beneath us, followed by a continental dinner, replete with roast chicken and sumptuous wood-fired pizzas. Of course, the theme and the vibe extended to my outfits too. I chose a mustard and watermelon pink anarkali from Abhinav Misra, teamed with minimum jewellery, for the morning Mehendi ceremony. For the Indian cocktail, I wore a lovely red marigold blouse and purple saree from Raw Mango. I paired this outfit with vintage-y Indian jewellery, which really completed the look. I knew that for the Hindu wedding I wanted something light in my favourite colours of rani pink & turquoise, and thankfully, I found just what I was looking for. Finally, I returned to Raw Mango for the Christian wedding. Their contemporary silhouettes with Indian fabrics worked perfectly for what I wanted—a gown in gold and white that came with a nod to Jonathan’s Mallu side. I finished the look off with contemporary jewellery from Eurumme. For every event, Jonathan’s clothes were chosen from Khanijo to compliment the colours of my outfit, once again, in perfect sync =)" adds Subhashree.
