Real Brides Reveal: Everything I Did 2 Weeks Before My Wedding For My Skin!

BY Apoorva | 31 Dec, 2020 | 44544 views | 3 min read

Two weeks before your wedding is a vital time when it comes to skincare. While you should begin your wedding skincare regime atleast 6-8 months prior, what you do within these 2 weeks largely determines how your skin will look on your wedding day. So, what is that ultimate bridal skincare secret? We asked our Real brides and here’s what they said!

Two weeks prior to my wedding, I indulged my skin. I wore my most luxurious creams and slathered my face in night masks. My skin is super dry so I gave it all the moisture I could. Also, sleeping on time and eating well helped. Don’t do crash diet as it sucks out all the health from your skin. I would recommend eating ‘ghar ka khanna’ for the last two weeks with lots of ghee, fruits and dry fruits.

I came back with super dehydarted skin from my bachelorette! And with only 3 weeks to go for the wedding, my mother went into super mom mode and ensured that I take care of my skin as best as possible. For the next three weeks, I received a facial massage with her most trusted cream Nivea Soft every night. It’s a soft, light moisturising cream with Jojoba oil and Vitamin E. While I was sceptical, a 15-minute massage for the three weeks actually changed my skin totally. It took care of all the dehydration and dead skin and I had supple and healthy skin on my wedding day. I doubt that Nivea box will ever leave my skincare kit now!

I was a DIY bride in every aspect and I did the same with my skincare two weeks before my wedding. I went for trusted methods used by my grandmas, and did a cleansing with ghee and washing it off with a paste of besan, honey and milk. I then used almond oil all over my body and face to give it that much needed glow before sleeping.

I followed my dermatologist’s orders to the tee. She asked me not to use any new products and stick to my regular skincare routine. I had been using the Nivea Milk Delight rose facewash for a double cleanse in the morning and evening, a rich moisturizer, a good 50+ SPF and a Nivea Cherry lip balm (all day keep reapplying!) I stuck to my loyal products with an occasional mask and my skin never looked better!

I had a deep cleaning done two weeks prior to my wedding followed by an oxygen-infused treatment. I love pampering my skin with facials and treatments and that’s what I did. Eating right and drinking lot of water helps too so don’t take that for granted even of you have the most expensive treatments.

So what was your secret skincare routine two weeks prior to your d-day?
