Red carpet bride at Jade by Monica & Karishma: Ruby red love!

The good thing about a red lehenga is that it never really needs a shout out. It's so full of passion and power that the wearer immediately stands out in a crowd of "me-toos". Poorna Daftari picked hers up just as she walked into the Jade store. She was sure it will be a red - but which red? Brick red or maroon or fire-engine? There were an array of choices - every red had it's own drama. After a bunch of trials, we found her this dark red lehenga and paired it up with a shiny beaded gold blouse.
Poorna was a classic beauty so an elegant red lehenga fit her just right along with the beautiful bold makeup and big hair. She even stood in all her lehenga finery in the middle of the road outside Jade - right in the traffic on a busy Mumbai day. That's why it's important to own the look and Poorna did just that. Hurrah!

When I first entered the beautiful store Jade, I was welcomed by WedMeGood and Jade team, they were extremely warm and friendly ! It just didn't seem like I was meeting them for the first time - we became friends instantly. Being featured on WedMeGood is like a dream for every bride now, I guess and I was one of those lucky ones. I was treated like a princess and yes, I have to say it was an unforgettable experience!
We had initial discussion on what outfit would suit me. I always had this clear picture in my mind about me wearing a red lehenga on my wedding day. It's traditional but that's what I wanted. And it was as if I was Cinderella and the Jade team were fairy godmothers for that day - because all my wishes were granted !
We looked for the right red, went through an array of nice blouses Jade had and finally came upon this deep red, almost-ruby red lehenga and yes, the gold blouse was a wonderful addition. The good thing about this shoot - you just put your finger on the outfit and you can wear it. You ask for a hairstyle and there you have it. Hema transformed me into a glamorous looking bride in an instant.
The most fun part of it was when The Wedding Salad team came up with the idea of taking the shoot to the streets. That was a completely different feeling, because the traffic around was stopped for me, people on the streets had their cameras out and I felt no less than a celebrity.
I now have so much clarity on the kind of outfit I want, my makeup, hairstyle and also how to pose!
