Sister Of The Bride Style: Meet Mehal

Being the sister of the bride means one thing - you’re basically attending every event, living in outfits, and secretly hoping at least one look becomes “that look” everyone remembers. Disha and Anshul's wedding WedMeGood recently featured was full of amazing looks, and one person who stood out for us (apart from the bride of course!) was the sister of the bride. Influencer Mehal Kejriwal wore some fabulous outfits, and here’s a breakdown of everything I wore, why I chose it, and how each look came together.

Welcome

For the welcome, I wore a red Benarasi saree by Marwar Couture, and honestly, it was love at first sight. The moment I spotted it on the rack, I knew it had to be part of the wedding. The deep red and rich weave instantly gave me regal, Rajputi vibes — perfect for setting the tone of the celebrations.

To elevate the look, Kala Johare customised a stunning polki and emerald jewellery set that complemented the saree beautifully. It felt traditional, powerful, and unapologetically festive — exactly what a welcome night should be.

Tiffany Haldi

For the haldi, I wanted something fresh but luxe - and Sabyasachi felt like the obvious choice. The vision was vintage glamour, and everything revolved around that perfect pastel blue (because nothing screams Tiffany Haldi like the right shade of blue).

With matte makeup, a retro hairstyle, and opulent solitaires from Golubhai Diamonds, the look came together effortlessly. Soft, elegant, and very old-world glam, just how I imagined it.

The Royal Ball

This was my excuse to go full drama mode. I wore Dodonavdiu and stayed true to the vintage aesthetic with a luxe black fur shawl, a deep back silhouette, and retro waves.

While searching for something truly unique jewellery-wise, I stumbled upon Raj Diamonds and discovered a real diamond zip set- yes, it actually moves like a zip. It was one of those rare finds that instantly makes the outfit unforgettable. Honestly, the final look turned out even better than I had imagined.

Chooda Kaleera

This one was tricky. I really wanted an outfit that didn’t feel overdone or already viral. My MUA sent me a look by Navneet Sidhu, and I immediately flew down to the store to try it on. Seeing that colour in person sealed the deal, it was stunning.

To complete the look, I paired it with beautiful jewellery from Rimple and Harpreet, keeping the overall vibe rich but refreshing.

Wedding

For the wedding, I wore Tarun Tahiliani, and fun fact- my father was very clear that the three of us should avoid lehengas since they’re so overdone. I remembered saving Kiara Advani’s Tarun Tahiliani look, tried on something similar, and it fit like an absolute dream.

The silhouette had this effortless French-Desi elegance, which I kept classic with solitaires from Golubhai Jewellers. Timeless, refined, and wedding-perfect.

Bismil Ki Mehfil

Let’s be honest, it would’ve been criminal not to wear at least one lehenga. For Bismil Ki Mehfil, I chose a black Sabyasachi lehenga that was bold, unconventional, and so striking.

I paired it with a regal choker from Kala Johare, kept the hair easy, and went for bronzed smokey makeup. Dark, dramatic, and a total mood shift from the rest.

Purane Zamaane ki Shaadi

This one deserves a special mention because it was the hardest to crack. Thankfully, the ITRH team customised a super fun, blingy palazzo set for my mom and me. We ended up twinning, and absolutely loving it.

It was nostalgic, playful, and full of old-school charm, just like the theme.

Concert Night

This night was all about letting loose. The only two references in my head were Shakira and Beyoncé, and my MUA team made sure the hair and makeup lived up to the vibe. I went for comfort without compromising on drama, a real mirror bodysuit, exaggerated gold fringe cape, and black skorts. Easy, bold, and perfect for dancing the night away.

My top tip? Hair & makeup matter more than you think!

No matter how expensive or dramatic your outfit is, hair and makeup can truly make or break a look. Invest in a team that understands you. For me, Manu Dheeraj brought every look to life beautifully, but we also did our homework well in advance, which made all the difference on the main days. Because when you’re the sister of the bride, you want to look good — but more importantly, you want to enjoy every second of it.
