Sister Of The Groom – Meet Sanaa

BY Apoorva | 27 Sep, 2019 | 14787 views | 5 min read

Remember this beautiful WMG bride who wore a gorgeous benarasi lehenga for her wedding? Well, her brother in law got married recently and we couldn’t help but notice her stunning looks for all the events of that wedding. From the pithi to the wedding, she wore and styled her lovely outfits to the tee. Want to see how? Keep reading!

Meet Sanaa

I am a person who loves rich textiles and sustainable outfits for whatever I wear so I kept that in mind before I started shopping for this wedding. I tend to sway towards my favourite designers like Sanjay Garg, Anamika Khanna★ 4.8 so I kept an eye out for all their collections. I also believe that people have this misconception that all designer wear is super-expensive. Yes, most of it is especially the bridal ones which usually start from 2-3 lakhs and even go up to 8-9 lakhs. But what you need to know is that these designers do simple pieces too which are stunning and if styled right, will create a statement. There are also some well-known designers who have pieces that start from 20k. Along with that keep a check on sales and price drops for all labels that you love as well as stores like Aza Mumbai★ 4.5 and Ensemble Design Studio★ 4.8 where you may just find a steal deal. Start shopping in advance and be ready to put in some effort so that you can find these deals.

For my jewellery, I don’t like to buy my jewellery depending on the outfit, instead I pick classic pieces that go with most of my outfits and which can be styled differently instead of going for a standard matching combo.

Look 1 – Pithi

One of the very first functions of the wedding was the Pithi. It was the first time that I was sitting for a pooja, which is why I wanted my look to be very traditional. Raw Mango★ 5 is one of my favourite labels and I wanted to wear an orange patola dupatta that I had. So I knew that my outfit had to be from Sanjay Garg. Kanu, the store manager at Raw Mango★ 5 helped me pick the perfect outfit which would fit the traditional theme as well as go with my dupatta. Got this whole suit for just 65k! The Patola dupatta was an old buy for which I paid around a lakh since its pure patola work. For my jewellery, I opted for a diamond necklace with emeralds so that it would complement the rich textiles of the benarasi and patola fabrics.

Look 2 – Sangeet

I knew that this was going to be a super-glam night! My sister-in-law (the bride) was wearing a Manish Malhotra so to keep the bling factor going, I opted for a Falguni Shane Peacock ★ 4.9 outfit in dusky rose pink. It was perfect because I had been eyeing that outfit for a long time and when we went to shop, they had a price reduction on it so it was a complete no-brainer pick for me for around 3 lakhs! I am a dusky-tan person so pretty much all colours look good on me but this one simply shone out from the rest. Since the outfit had so much happening all over it, I kept my jewellery simple with a single strand of diamonds. For the makeup, I went glam and sleek for my hair!

Look 3 – Mehendi

When I love a piece, I make sure I keep an eye out for it especially when it goes on sale. I loved a hot-pink anarkali from Anamika Khanna★ 4.8 but when I went to shop for it at Ensemble Design Studio★ 4.8 , they dint have that. Instead they had this gorgeous yellow anarkali in the same design and guess how much it cost? Under 85k on sale! Complete steal. I wanted to go for something minimal yet make a statement so this bright yellow colour beauty with thread work did the magic. It was a simple sun-downer event so it worked very well. The earrings were uncut beauties from Sabyasachi which had a touch of turquoise. My hair was inspired by Deepika’s wedding looks where she kept it clean yet classy!

Look 4 – Wedding

I really wanted to wear a lehenga at some event but being a recent bride myself I have realised that I don’t get much use out of the lehengas. Plus this was a family wedding so I knew I had to do some running around for sure, that’s why I opted for a sharara suit instead. Raw Mango★ 5 has just dropped the ‘Heer’ collection then and I completely loved the purple-yellow combination! And I dint want to go overboard buying something worth lakhs and not wearing it again. This cost me around a lakh and I was super happy with that. It was so comfortable to wear so I loved the pick.
