"So I recently got married in December and it was almost a whole month of wedding celebrations and festivities. But these festivities would not have been possible without choosing the right vendor. We had it all figured out in our heads with respect to decor, photography, music, mehendi, make-up artists, food etc., etc.,however, in order to materialise these plans, we were looking for vendors who would just understand our needs. Finally, Pooja Gupta from Elusive Dreamz came to us and made our dream come true. And to be honest, through my entire wedding season I have followed Wedmegood for almost everything and somewhere had this excitement of seeing a part of my wedding to be covered here :)" explains Sumedha.
"When Ankit and me finally decided to get married, we wanted to make it one of the most memorable weddings and a week full of just festivities for our friends & family. Since me and him are absolute foodies and music lovers we made sure that each and every function of our wedding had a different cuisine and genre of music. From the most famous Bollywood DJ Amit B rocking the night at our cocktail to Tarkash- the live sufi band playing at our sundowner Mehndi and to the fastest pianist of India, Mr. Aman Batla playing at our wedding we almost touched all genres that we could. And a big shout out to our caterers, Purpleberry Co., the food/drinks in all our functions was the star light. To make it even more memorable for our friends and family, we had personalized stationery and wedding favors in the form of wooden boxes with our initials engraved. For the Mehendi, we had colourful bangles and 'Shades of Love' as giveaways for everybody" adds Sumedha.
Outfits and accessories for our BIG FAT Indian wedding: All the focus of attention is on the bride and the groom, I knew my case won’t be any different. As a bride I wanted to maintain the balance between elegancy, simplicity as well as bling and hence I was not only particular about just the outfits I’d wear but the various little detailing and accessories which accentuated them. For instance, I wanted slightly different Kaleeras than the usual ones to go with my wedding outfit and finally after not being able to find any in Delhi they were brought in from Ludhiana by a friend to match my wedding lehenga!!!
Unusual fact: Not to save money but for my personal satisfaction, out of the five functions we planned, I did my own make up for two of the very important functions i.e, Mehndi & Cocktail, and it turned out to be just fantastic!! So potential brides, sometimes DIY own make-up works as long as you use the right products!!" advises Sumedha.
