Super Pretty Delhi Wedding with a Unique Bridal Entry

BY The WMG Bride | 25 Mar, 2016 | 15023 views | 6 min read

Read Madhuri's writeup carefully, and you will be amazed at the kind of details she pulled off  right from her bridal entry using her pre-recorded bridal vows dubbed over John Legends "All of me" and "Chan-Chans", to customised concoctions on kaleeras by Mrinalini Chandra (dying to see a photo of that).  You may remember her from the incredible pre-wedding shoot with her bridesmaids, and her wedding is no different. Just wow and all of it beautifully captured by Morvi Images.

 Meet Madhuri & Rohan

"Rohan and I met in August 2011 at our workplace. We instantly hit it off and started dating in October 2011. He proposed to me in the most romantic way in Goa at Marbela beach amidst the sand and the water while the sun was setting and we got engaged in January 2015" explains Madhuri.

 From The Bride:

"I always wanted a big fat wedding and both my parents and in-laws gave us the best best best wedding ever.  I was an insanely hyper bride (ask my bridesmaids, they'll tell you :p) and wanted to make sure everything was perfect. I was involved in every little detail from choosing the venues to the decor to choreographing the dance sequence to planning my bridal entry."

"A few noteworthy things at my wedding:

  • The choreography for my wedding was done by my very own Dansync, a dance company that I'm a part of. For my bridal entry I wanted something dramatic. We at Dansync conceptualized my entry where in my friends went through the crowd gathered everyone's attention  with Chan-Chans followed by my vows that I had pre recorded in a studio dubbed over the music of All of me by John Legend . It was conceptualised and executed from start to finish by Dansync as I always wanted a wedding where in i could read my vows and this is how we incorporated the same.
  • For the wedding cards, I stuck to a floral theme and each card was sent out with a beautiful box decorated with ghungroos and filled with home-made besan ladoos. The cards were designed by Empire Cards. Rohan's cards were designed by EDC sent out with a beautiful hamper with some chocolates and a bottle of prosecco.
  • For the wedding we stuck to a very English theme with a lot of white and florals since it was a day wedding.
  • I wanted a very open, rustic and vintage decor for my Mehendi. The Mehendi area was decorated with beautiful pictures of me and Rohan (all shot by my favourite Morvi at different occasions)" says Madhuri.

For my Mehendi I wore a yellow Anarkali by Mad Sam Tin Zin. It was love at first sight with this outfit. I absolutely love accessories, in fact that's what I do for a living. I run an accessories portal called www.loveforprettythings.com and I handpicked each and every one of my accessories. I really love highlighting my outfit with one statement piece. For the Mehendi I just accessorized with a gold finish matha patti by Suhana Jewels in Shahpur Jat. I even got customized bride slippers and a bride makeup pouch done for myself. Instead of getting Rohan's name done on my Mehendi I actually got Man Utd written as that's the club he supports and is absolutely crazy about football. As Mehendi favours I got gota patti rings and teekas designed for everyone by Just Shradhas.

The mehendi translated into a Sangeet for which I wore a Navy blue Sabyasachi high waist lehenga with a hint of pink embroidery. Chose this outfit as it was sooooo gorgeous and again understated. Sabyasachi just creates magic. Again I chose to wear one statement accessory which was a beautiful pair of pink benarasi meena work earrings customized by Veeni Jewels again (absolutely love their stuff ). Later, Rohan's mum made me wear an absolutely stunning gold set

For the wedding I wore a beautiful rani pink Sabyasachi lehenga that he picked out for me when I met him sometime in August. The lehenga had a bottle green dupatta and a mint green veil. I wanted to steer away from red for the wedding.  This was the first lehenga I saw and fell in love with it. I still went around for months thinking i might like something better but ultimately I came back to it as my heart was set on it. I specifically never wanted to wear a red chura, so after hunting almost every shop in Delhi, I found a baby pink chura and got them customized by Mrinalini Chandra - they had little chairs hanging in them! I wore gold ghungroo bangles by Amrapali, a beautiful green haathphool by Astha Jagwani, a stunning juda accessory by Vasundhara and my most favourite piece, a pink enamel payal with beads that was customised for me by Soranam by Sonia Malhotra. My favourites that everyone should have in their trousseau - Armaan Aiman, Ekaya, Amrita Thakur, Nikasha and Ritu Kumar!

Morvi, my photographer creates magic. I look at the pictures almost every day and cannot get enough of them. More than anything, Morvi now is my friend rather than someone I work with. She is the best in Delhi and is a wonderful human being. She takes a personal interest and makes sure that your wedding pictures are magical. Her attention to detail is just fantastic. I recommend everyone getting married to get your wedding pictures done by Morvi and no one else. She covered my engagement, my pre-wedding and my wedding and there is not one picture that I can find a fault with" explains Madhuri.
