Sweet Affair in Delhi With Young Romance!

BY The WMG Bride | 10 Nov, 2015 | 5184 views | 4 min read

There is a certain girlish innocence in this wedding - right from the elegant  simplicity in Tanya's outfits to the jewellery. What we adore- the stolen moments  between these two  captured by Shiv Sharma Photography and the light weightiness of her wedding outfit that was totally season appropriate.

Meet Tanya & Paritosh

P _ T Engagement (559 of 642)

"I met my husband back in college during our bachelors. We used to hangout in different groups and we actually started hanging out together during our 3rd year when we shared the same group of friends. He proposed to me a day before the exam through a text and just disappeared without even waiting for my response! Oh man he got a bit of 'dose' for that from me! The rest has been history since then. We worked in the same firm for 5 years. We started as batchmates and here we are after 7 years  -married and again going to be batchmates because we are going to the same university in Boston for our masters! Now that's what I call a "Happily Ever After :):)" says Tanya.

From the bride:

"For my outfits, one thing I was sure - I wanted to dress according to the weather. I knew it was going to be really hot, so I wanted a really light-weight lehenga. Secondly, I am really not a fan of the kali work which is the first thing you get when you hit the market for your wedding shopping, so I wanted something different.

I was then working in Pune, so went to Mumbai, every weekend with a list of stores in my mobile (hats off to my fiance for being my 'girlfriend' at that time :D) which I got from the WedMeGood vendor guide ( I still have numerous posts bookmarked for my brother's wedding). From Kalki Fashion to Chami & Palak, Kala Ghoda stores, Anita Dongre to Sabyasachi - I was on a big search. I'd literally swoon over their work but I tell you it's really hard coming back to your budget after visiting these stores!

But then I went to Aza Bandra where I saw this lehenga by MadSam Tinzin. It was a peach and blue combination and I actually finalised everything there. I love blue and I knew I hit the nail on the head. But then, my parents were literally shocked to know that m gonna wear BLUE at my own wedding! So I talked to the designer and requested her if the colour could be changed to pink, since am not a red person and yes, it was possible! I next time I was at Aza, I saw a really pretty Dolly J gown in peach colour which was apt for a summer engagement. Also, am not a fan of gowns but my mum-in-law wanted me to wear a gown. And to be honest, I hated all that bling in the market. And when I saw this one it was a relief as it had just the right amount of bling which didn't hurt my eyes and was classy at the same time. So I just made a few modifications to the neckline and I was sorted. But still I wanted to wear blue so badly, so I chose a really light and comfortable lehenga in blue colour for my mehendi as opposed to the greens and yellows.

For my jewellery I  wanted to wear something light as well and not those really heavy jadau sets. They all look the same to me. So I went for layering a Rani Haar and a pendant necklace which is good as I can wear them in future as well.

"For my fiance's outfits, I made sure it was not that boring cream sherwani! We went to a lot of outlets n finally at Mohanlal Sons we were able to get what we were looking for. We selected the fabric in a colour that went well with my lehenga, also the embroidery was selected according to it as my lehenga had chheeta work." explains Tanya.
