Tarun Tahiliani Brings Spring To The Ramp At 2019 FDCI India Couture Week!

BY Soha | 30 Jul, 2019 | 754 views | 3 min read

Delhi just wrapped up the FDCI couture week and guess who got a chance to witness the magic LIVE? Yep, yours truly (we hope you got a chance to catch all the action live on our Instagram stories). Team WedMeGood attended the finale of 2019 FDCI India Couture Week and boy, did we witness magic!

Celebrated couturier, Tarun Tahiliani led the finale of the 5-day long extravaganza with his interpretation of the new-age bride. But what was different this time? Instead of layers and layers of ruffles and drapes, what we saw were breezy, lightweight ensembles in rich textures and earthy colors that match the Indian wedding scene like nothing else!

With structured drapes that were richly detailed, Tarun Tahiliani brought spring to the ballrooms of Bikaner House and wove a dreamy picture of Delhi blossoms.

His latest collection, 'Bloom’ is for a young, spirited bride who wants to be truly herself- free, fun and happy, as she dances the night away in outfits that compliment her body!

We saw a host of lightweight, and breathable outfits that stood out not only for their exquisite designs but also for the mobility that came with them!

From heavily-embellished beiges and nudes to ombre, reds and oranges, there were some classic pieces- lehengas, anarkalis, and sarees that made quite a statement!

Oh, and did we mention florals?

Talking about details, we noticed intricate threadwork and the borders of some of the dupattas and lehengas cut out seamlessly in the shape of flowers. After all, it's Tarun Tahiliani we are talking about!

We love a new dupatta drape when we spot one and Tarun's showcase didn't disappoint one bit- what are your throughts on this one that's a perfect blend of modern and traditional?

We are choosing to call it 'Kamarbandh drape', which seems like an apt enough name for it. Brides-to-be should, here's something for you to consider for your bridal looks!

Wondering what's in store for the boys?

We spotted tone-on-tone outfits in signature Tarun Tahiliani accents, complete with a neatly tied 'saafa' in fresh, bold prints and intricate embroideries!

Now here's a fun fact. This time at the ICW, Tarun Tahiliani made sure he did not get on board any showstopper. Wait, wondering what's a show without a showstopper? A fashion showcase that's about just that- fashion! Without any muse headlining the show, the couturier brought attention right where it is due!

The FDCI India Couture Week finale also marked 25 glorious years of Tarun Tahiliani, and we know we arent the only ones who've been thankful for him!
