Touching Ways to honour deceased loved ones on your wedding day

BY The WMG Bride | 05 Feb, 2015 | 7196 views | 2 min read

Weddings are about family, those that are here with us to bless us on our big day but also those who may have passed away in person but stay with us in our heart. Use your wedding day to commemorate deceased love ones in a beautiful , symbolic way

1.  Include them in your bridal look: Real bride Jasmine attached her grandfathers picture to her Kalira to se he could literally walk her down the aisle  You could have a photo of them pinned inside your sherwani, wear their favourite gold necklace from yesteryear or have a keepsake you carry with yourself on your wedding day.

2. Leave a chair empty for them around the feras with their photo: Bride Divyata did the sweetest thing, she left two chairs next to her Pheras with her grandparents photos. It's like they are watching over the proceedings.

  3. Have a framed portrait of your loved one: We were all touched by beautiful bride Yasmeens story, and this moment was heartbreaking, but also such a beautiful way to acknowledge her dads presence   honorlovedones_theknot02

  4. Have a memory table: Arranging a thoughtful mmemory table with flowers, leaves and framed portraits is also a great way to make a particular corner a special commemorative corner that guests can go and light a candle on.   kheer1   5. Include a family recipe in your menu : Did your grandmom make the best Gajar ka halwa, or maybe your late aunt who had the best biscotti? Include these as a recipe in your family menu and label them with your loved ones name. Turn a sad moment into something happy !

  6. Release sky lanterns in the air in their memory / have a candle light moment : If a candle light moment is too somber, have your guests release sky lanterns . Its a great activity for all your guests and the visual of a hundred sky lanterns in the night sky is a stunning one.
