#Trending: Are Boozy Popsicles The New Champagne at Weddings?

BY Latha Sunadh | 26 Jul, 2016 | 1268 views | 2 min read

Well, there was a time we wrote about booze popsicles and pink cotton candy champagne as Snapchat-worthy ideas at your avant-garde wedding. But lately, just as the trends are changing everywhere, there are apparently new ideas that are taking over the bar scene in India. One such beauty: Boozy cocktails. No, don't mistake them for popsicles or gola ( though they are a bit of that!), they are a combination rather of two of our favourite things - Cocktails + Popsicles. Desktop135

So what exactly are these boozy blessings? You make a fruity popsicle and combine it with a cocktail or alcohol of your choice and viola, a unique signature drink! Simply put a flavoured popsicle in a glass of champagne / wine/ cocktail / mojito/ sangria and as it melts it takes on the flavour of the popsicle. Why should I have it at my wedding? Now, this is a bit of a detour but do you remember the time when Pheobe in FRIENDS says with all honesty this particular quote - "In Monica's apartment, you get to eat cookies by the sink". Well, for all those neat and tidy folks, this boozy cocktail popsicle is a blessing. So you won't spill anything on those nice wedding clothes, plus, you get to eat your popsicle and drink your chic cocktail too. Monica would totally approve! Plus, your wedding will be the talk of the town. Desktop134

Is it difficult to make? Would an Indian bartender get it right? What's more effortless than adding a popsicle to a drink? NOTHING! So get those popsicles separately made of fresh fruit and just dunk them into the glass. Done! Would it cost me a bomb? Nopes, just the frozen fruit popsicles cost money. The glasses + cocktails come at the bar anyways. What are the most interesting flavours here? The easiest is Mojitos. Try the Prosecco ones. Champagne poured on fruit popsicles will make it a fun Mimosa. Otherwise pretty much anything works - Sangria, Cosmopolitans or even Pina Colada.
