Singer Badshaah may have got his lyrics wrong,  because these days we spy with our little eye "Dj Wali Baraats" instead of Babus. Picture this- you have your dhol band going, the baraatis are dancing to it, and alongside there is a truck or cart mounted setup complete with speakers, mixers and a DJ mixing the best baraat tracks. Like a live party, right on the streets...

So how does it work? Your DJ would typically be offering these services. The van comes fitted with a sound system, killer speakers and its own power supply. If you want it dressed up, you could add placards on top of it like the one above. However even without it, you can have a black van rolling with the Baraatis with a DJ spinning popular tracks inside.
What sort of numbers does he play? Well, the usual numbers with a dash of Shaadi special. Think Bollywood, but with an extra dose of "Aaj mere yaar ki shaadi hai" or "Tenu leke me jaavanga"
Doesn't it interfere with the Baraat Band? Well usually, if you have a DJ van, you won't need a band. But even if you do, you can make them work in cohesion. The DJ plays the song- the dhol and the band go along and match their instruments to the DJ's music.
