There are people who like movies, and then there are Bollywood fans! And here is a couple who took their love for Bollywood to the very next level! Not only did they have a Bollywood themed wedding, but they even had a DDLJ themed event, with the bride being a big SRK fan! Another thing that we loved about this wedding was the fact that the bride designed her own mehendi and haldi outfit, both of which looked amazing and comfortable to dance away in! Aishwarya and Reshant's colourful Corbett Wedding was planned beautifully by Unik Experiences , who definitely deserve a shoutout for this happy union.

"We were family friends who happened to meet when we came to study in the US", the bride tells us.

From The Bride:
We got married on 5th June 2022. It was a destination wedding in Jim Corbett. We both are from Dehradun and hence have this extreme love for mountains and therefore decided on a summer wedding with a beautiful backdrop of mountains. The wedding was way too much fun. It was chill and everyone was drinking dancing and eating a lot. We both being the bride and the groom were very sure that we want a stress free chill wedding and I feel I ended up having the most fun breaking all the stereotypes of how a bride should be. I wore the most comfortable clothes and danced and ate my heart out. We had a fun mela theme mehendi, a beautiful Bollywood themed sangeet, pool party themed haldi and a very beautiful under the stars kind of wedding. I am a big Shahrukh fan and everything from the wedding cards to the theme song to neon signs was all “Dilwale Dulhaniya le Jayenge” themed.
About WedMeGood
I used the WedMeGood app for everything- from decor ideas to outfit ideas to activities. I feel WedMeGood was one of the pages I always kept referring to during the whole planning process.
Vendor Reviews
Wedding Planning: Unik Experiences
Our wedding planners were Unik Experiences. They are more like family now. They turned all my dreams into reality. They gave me the wedding I always imagined! Every event was beautifully done with the smallest of details taken care of. They delivered what they promised and were very hands on throughout the process from adjusting the timings to coordinate calls with our different time zones to finding us the best photographers and other vendors. They kept us calm when we were getting stressed and bought everything together. The decor was outstanding and it was as almost like all the decor and events reflected our personalities. I always was worried that planning a wedding from the US would be tough but SHAIVYA AND AAYUSH made that happen and we will forever be grateful to them.
Venues: Taj Corbett Resort & Spa & The Riverview Retreat, Corbett
We had to book to neighbouring resorts to fit both sides of guests. The venue was what made me wedding the most beautiful because of the beautiful mountains and river flowing. The food was another plus point.
Makeup Artist: Harshita Gulati
My makeup artist was Harshita Gulati (makeupbyharshitaaa) always wanted to be that bride who looks like herself when she gets married and that’s the reason why I chose Harshita. She unlike my past experiences with makeup professionals was nice enough to hear me out. She made me look how I always imagined myself as a bride. I love her energy and she is super friendly. She will make you look beautiful and I will forever be grateful to her. I got lucky and found her.
Photography: Vows & Tales
Vows & Tales were our photographers and they did a stunning job. I always thought I am not very photogenic but looking at the pictures I can’t believe I used to think that. They were very sweet and patient throughout the process and vents. They were calm when we were tired and didn’t want to click pictures. They never forced us to do poses which we didn’t like and told us just to be ourselves. I am glad we got them onboard because my magical wedding is not forever captured in an equally magical way and the photos and videos does complete justice to how much fun we had.
Bridal Outfits
Wedding: Rimple and Harpreet
My wedding lehenga was from Rimple and Harpreet. I always knew that I want to wear a Rajasthani touch red lehenga for my wedding. I wanted to keep it very royal unlike my actual style which is very comfy and casual. I couldn’t have asked for a better lehenga. I fell in love with it on the first look and it was the only wedding lehenga I tried. I always wanted to be a Sabyasachi bride but this lehenga made me change that decision and I don’t regret it a bit. All the jewellery I wore was real.
Mehendi & Haldi: Self-designed
Mehendi outfit material was bought off an Instagram store and the rest was designed by me. I bought three outfits for this event as I kept thinking none of them were good enough but ultimately the one I wore matches the Mela theme and was not the typical green that most brides wear for their mehendi functions. All the jewellery I wore was real.
I got a custom made dhoti saree for my haldi function with a corset blouse and fooljhadi jewellery. I had divider kind of shorts built in my saree so that when I jump in the pool, it won’t get uncomfortable.
Sangeet: AUM Ashima and Asit
The second sangeet outfit was from AUM Ashima and Asit from Shahpur Jaat. I wanted a hot pink lehenga to wear on my sangeet, however I didn’t want to do anything shimmery and instead opted for the flared lehenga with a organza dupatta. I danced the before night in lehenga and it was so comfortable and easy to carry. Earrings I wore were real.
