What If You Can't Attend Your BFF's Wedding Just Because You Are A Pakistani?

I remember taking a taxi in Spain and meeting a Pakistani driver who spoke impeccable hindi. Of course, we bonded over chai and Shah Rukh Khan. That's the deal with meeting Asians outside our continent - we bond just as well, and borders don't separate us. That's why this story of Purvi Thacker and Sarah Munir will move you to bits.

Purvi Thacker is Indian. Sarah Munir is Pakistani. And they met in NYC a while ago and instantly became buddies. Now, with Purvi's wedding coming up, Sarah faces the challenge of coming to India to attend her friend's wedding. As we all know, right about now, the word Pakistan is creating such a hullaballoo and with good reason of course! And now with tension escalating, no one wants to take a chance. And Sarah is the maid of honour and she's devastated. The reason: her visa to visit India was denied. So, Thacker and Munir went on a social media rampage highlighting their cause and boy, did it go viral. And what's worse, there was no reason or statement given by the embassy as to why they rejected her visa as she applied from New York. If you want to know what's up? Just look up the hashtag #GetSarahToIndia and you'll see how crazy it went. It's not that Sarah has not visited India before, she did visit Purvi's home earlier a few years back. So it's just now and it's not right! As for us, we believe weddings are those amazing times and people really need to shower that love and be kind during these special moments. If you want to know more, just look up: #GetSarahToIndia. Fingers crossed as she reapplies! What do you think dear reader? What are your thoughts on this?
