What an awesome thing social media is! Imagine a bride getting reunited with her 150-year-old vintage wedding dress after losing it! Tess Newall from Scotland owned the dress, which had been a family heirloom from the 1870's belonging to her great-great grandmother. The dress was worn by every woman in the family. She had worn it on her wedding in June 2016, after which the husband gave it for dry cleaning to a laundry called Kleen Cleaners in Edinburgh. But the laundry soon shut due to bankruptcy, and the dress was lost. The bride posted about her antique lace gown on Facebook, which quickly went viral. Surprisingly, her post was shared more than 200,000 times across social media! And imagine.. she found it! She posted an update this week saying that her precious dress was found “in a crumpled heap” at the closed shop. Tess said, “My parents received a phone call from the landlord of the property where the dry cleaners is, whose nephew had read about the dress. He really searched and he found a pile of old lace which he realised was what he thought was the dress. My parents went straight there and were just overjoyed and couldn’t believe it was the dress, not cleaned, and still with its ticket!” So yes, wedding miracles do happen- not thanks to fairy godmothers, but social media :P
