Singapore Airlines' new no-frills carrier Scoot may offer tickets between India to Europe for as low as 12K one-way per person! Yes, you heard that right! Scoot is likely to begin its long haul flights on the India-Europe route within a year. If you're wondering why the tickets are pegged to be so cheap, well, the low-cost carrier has a 'privilege' that allows it to operate direct flights between India and Europe. The 'fifth freedom' rights permit a carrier to operate direct flights between two foreign countries.

The airline has said it will offer a one-way trip on Mumbai-Copenhagen route for Rs 12,000, the price would include 20 kg check-in bag and a meal. So basically, a return trip to Europe would cost around Rs 26,000 per head! This is pretty cheap, considering the fact that right now, the cheapest fares of direct flights on the India-Europe route start at approximately Rs 45,000. They are considering flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata to destinations like Copenhagen, Vienna, Cairo and Manchester in Europe.

Operations from India to Europe on Scoot are likely to come into effect within a year as per the official statement. So hope and pray that this comes into effect soon, especially if you are planning your honeymoon next year!
