BY The WMG Bride | 04 Jul, 2015 | 7923 views | 3 min read

Unless you are living under a rock you would know about Bollywood cutie Shahid Kapoor tying the knot with Delhi girl Mira this week. While we cannot wait for B-town to descend to Delhi to bless this couple (stay tuned to WMG Snapchat and Instagram for constant updates), we caught up with the man behind the card- Ravish Kapoor who dishes some details about what went behind this white and blue creation! After all, it's the biggest wedding of the year (sigh, Shahid we'll miss you) and we are all dying to know every tiny detail. 5-shahidkapoorcard-0032-shahidkapoorcard3-shahidkapoorcard-0014-shahidkapoorcard-0026-shahidkapoorcard-004 1-ravish1

Who commissioned the design - was it Shahid himself?

It was Shahid's parents who had a meeting with us first. They came with a colour scheme in mind - beautiful turquoise and simple white  and they wanted a design that's elegant.

What gifts were included with the wedding card?

Shahid's parents wanted to give a gift along with the card and they wanted something different from the usual. They wanted to include something beautiful and memorable - but they were also sure it had to be Indian. Something sweet and savoury together is what they were specific about. So we thought about it and suggested tea and honey.

Where was the tea and honey sourced from?

The two boxes contain four varieties of tea from Anandini Himalaya Tea - a boutique tea store in Delhi that creates unique blends of teas. The good thing about them is that they can customise a blend for you. As far as honey goes, we chose Mille Fiorii Honey, which is considered the finest honey in the market to represent the sweetness.

Was Shahid pleased with the choices?

Shahid loved both of them because they were unique, hand-crafted and made in India.

Tell us a bit more about the card itself - the details?

The card uses fine stock papers, uses great embossing technology and plating to give it that beautiful look. We used laser-cutting to create the elegance of the box. Shahid did not want to use too much gold - so there a just a few touches here and there, the rest is the design in white and turquoise which speaks for itself.

Ooh tell us more?

The reception card is separate ;)
