Firstly, I would like to apologize for taking this long to write a review for Yashika. I wanted to write this with plenty of time on my hand to do justice to this wonderful artist and person, but I never seemed to be able carve out enough time. It is our first wedding anniversary tomorrow and while browsing through our wedding album, I was reminded of Yashika and how special she made me look and feel exactly a year ago. I am compelled to write about my experience with her so I can let the world know of her talent and genius. Now for the actual review... where do I even start? I must have spoken to at least 20 makeup artists for my wedding but Yashika was the most straight-forward, no-nonsense makeup artist I spoke to. She cares more about her brides and their looks rather than the money. I wanted to go for airbrush makeup and was ready to pay the extra amount. All the MUAs I spoke with were happy to oblige, but Yashika was the only one who told me that with my skin-type, HD makeup would be more suitable for me, even though that meant she would be earning less. I was skeptical about it so she encouraged me to go for trials with other MUAs I had shortlisted. After a month of tall talks by other MUAs and disappointing trials, I contacted Yashika again. We talked over video call and she alleviated all my worries. She knew her stuff so well. She talked to me about my preferences, what would suit my skin-type and my features, and genuinely heard my concerns and suggestions. I wholeheartedly trusted her after that call and decided to not waste either of our times with a trial because I had already made the decision to book her. She was a sweetheart through and through. She followed up with me frequently to make sure I was looking after myself before the wedding. She is also very punctual - she respects your time and in return, wants you to respect hers. She was before time on both days and got me ready with enough time to spare that I could give to the photographers completely stress-free. So if you are a bride-to-be, stick to her timeline and you will be sorted. Moving to the actual makeup - she made me look like a dream. I fall short of words to describe how much I loved my looks. I had a gown for my sangeet, a traditional nauvari saree for my wedding, and a lehenga for my reception - she made sure all the three looks were totally different yet all were beautiful in their own way. It was the best I ever looked. The makeup did not budge through the events. Her eye makeup skills are to die for. She kept it classy without making me look scary with those dramatic cut creases or extra long lashes. At the same time, she added just enough drama for my evening looks. I cannot rave about her makeup enough. My husband usually hates when I wear makeup, but he LOVED the makeup she did on me. I am still receiving compliments about how beautiful I looked for my wedding functions and it is all thanks to her. I know this has gone a little too long, but I would just like to address brides-to-be who are considering booking her - just go for her. You can trust her with your big day blindly. She is extremely professional, considerate, punctual, talented, and above all, trustworthy. I took trials from few of the top MUAs of Mumbai but trust me, she is head and shoulders above them. She is worth a LOT more than she charges. I have no doubt in my mind that she is one of the best MUAs Mumbai has to offer and booking her would be the best money you would be spending for your wedding. To Yashika - thank you thank you thank you for being you. I feel lucky to have stumbled across your profile on Instagram and privileged to have been one of your brides during your first wedding season as a freelance makeup artist. With your insane talent, professionalism, and generosity, you have amazing things written in your future. Sorry for not writing this review sooner - I have finally found the words but they are still not enough to describe the experience I had with you. I wish you all the very best in your business.
