As soon as my wedding date was fixed, I contacted one of my favorite celebrity MUAs. The wedding was in May, but I booked her as far back as December. As we grew closer to the wedding, I started looking for someone else to do hair and makeup for my mum and bridesmaids as well. That’s when I stumbled upon Face Palette’s Instagram page. I went through all their photos and really liked their work. I messaged them and was able to book them for the wedding. Since I live outside Kerala, I was in contact with Face Palette entirely through Instagram and WhatsApp. I was initially quite anxious about how we would coordinate everything and communicate our specific requests to them, but Lekshmi and her team were so amazingly responsive and understanding. The engagement was planned to be a low-key event, so I didn’t plan on hiring anyone initially. But, after having been in touch with them for a couple months, I decided to book them for the engagement as well. I felt it would be a good opportunity to get to know the team and see how their work turns out. After we landed in Kochi, we went over to the Face Palette academy to meet Lekshmi in person. She’s one of the kindest, friendliest and most approachable people I have ever met. We went over all the details for the engagement and wedding once more, and by the time we had to leave, we had a feeling we were in great hands. On the morning of the wedding, the Angels arrived at our hotel right on time and started to get my mum and bridesmaids ready. But, I was living my worst nightmare at that point. I couldn’t get ahold of the MUA I had hired for myself. Due to some crazy, unforeseen circumstances, I found out (literally a couple hours before I had to be in church!) that she wasn’t going to be able to make it. We quickly contacted Lekshmi and told her about the situation. We were in such a state of panic and despair, but Lekshmi was so comforting and reassuring. It would’ve been difficult to find anyone on such short notice, especially that early in the morning, but Lekshmi and her Angels were lifesavers. She quickly sent over one of her senior artists along with an assistant, and they did my hair and makeup in record time. Without their help, I doubt I would have made it to church at all, let alone on time. I want to convey a HUGE thank you to Lekshmi and her entire time, especially the Angels (Jify, Reneya, Vani, Simi, Nisha, Vidhya and Hitha). They made me, mum and my bridesmaids look our best for both the engagement and wedding. They are true professionals, but also the sweetest people ever. It was such a delight and pleasure working with them! <3
