Tejal M- Make up artist

Not really a review but a word of caution. I’m from Bombay and booked Tejal for my wedding in Goa while COVID cases were on a steep decline and the country had fully opened up. Unfortunately for me, the extremely sudden spike in cases lead to a full lockdown in Maharashtra and I had to cancel my wedding, about 14 days before the wedding. Tejal was the only vendor who absolutely refused to return the entirety of my 50% advance, going a step further and citing things such as- - None of my other brides have cancelled. (Good for you! All the more reason to be kind towards people who have had to) - Everyone knew a second wave was going to happen eventually, why did you book. (Just the thing a bride who just had a wedding she had been planning for a year get cancelled wants to hear) - I can allow you to postpone (when she literally just told me I shouldn't have booked because I knew a second wave was going to happen at some point. But it's okay to postpone by a few months when there's over 2 lakh cases in the country in a day, only likely to increase.) I offered to pay for the time she had actually invested in me, which was one trial session at her place, but apparently that wasn’t enough. I didn't have the heart or the patience to negotiate at all or any further, so decided to let it go. I can’t speak for her skill as a make-up artist because I never got to experience it, but I can definitely say that there’s a lot lacking in the empathy and kindness department. For anyone looking to book, feel free to because my trial session was alright, but do it with an air-tight cancellation policy in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Totally my bad that this is something I didn’t think I needed to discuss because I booked her when the wedding was only a couple months away and I didn’t imagine anything would go wrong. But it really can and the last thing you want is to negotiate with vendors to be kinder.

Tejal did an amazing job. She was very patient and understood my skin type before applying anything, She took my views on my dream look, and then came out for a perfect makeup style for me.

Amazing make-up artist and a wonderful person. She did my bridal hair and makeup so well. It was a pleasure having her as my makeup artist.

Choosing Tejal was the best thing ever because the whole process right from the trial to the wedding day was very smooth. She was open to my ideas and we tried a few different looks during the trial. She made me feel calm on the wedding day. The make-up was perfect & long lasting, the hair was done just the way I wanted it. Her experience and skills are reflected in her work. A big thank you to Tejal. I would highly recommend her!

Had the opportunity to do a make up session and interact with Tejal a few weeks ago. Just an amazing human being. Her confidence and style were very impressive. Tejal thanks for teaching me to use minimalistic makeup for a natural look.

I dont wear makeup - the most I wear is lip balm. So for me, makeup was this daunting monster that I had to deal with on my wedding day, and my friends convinced me that not wearing any would be the greatest regret of my life (Yes, they are quite dramatic) If you do a quick Google search on makeup artists in Goa, Tejal features among the top two - and shes had a lot of noteable clients - so I had no worries there. What I was apprehensive about was getting the minimal makeup look that I wanted, since I'd heard that a lot of makeup artists are pushy and like to use your face as a canvas to display their work :D I didnt have to worry at all about that with Tejal. She was super sweet and friendly, and she listened. She listened to the things I said like "I think false eyelashes make me look old and uncomfortable" and the things I didnt say, like "What is that thing that looks like a surgical instrument that you're holding". She quelled all my fears and I knew from the trial itself that she was going to make me look fabulous. Tejal was super professional and yet super sweet at the same time - she had the best products, the makeup didnt feel heavy at all, it lasted ALL day, and the makeup session wasnt stressful at all like I'd thought it would be - in fact, it was relaxing! Tejal arrived before time to set up, she and her assistant helped me into the dress, and she made me feel like this was no biggie - that's what every bride needs! To whoever thought that glow was because of my fiance, I say - it was because of Tejal :)

Tejal is extremely professional in her approach. She gave me exactly the kind of look I wanted. She has a very good sense of colours when doing the makeup. The makeup lasted through the entire function of 6-7 hours. Even after the food and lot of dancing the make up and the hair was just the same as in the beginning. I was completely satisfied and it was totally worth the money spent.
