It was my cousins wedding in the first week of December this year. We started planning it in August, and I found wedding umbrella on wed me good and decided to go for it. Loved their designs in the very first go. Consulted so many other vendors too but, theirs was the best. We finalized them. They have always been up to the mark, with all their work. They made everything at the wedding at Hyatt look so graceful, just the way we wanted. One of the best in town! Their detailing s are so good. Their work is outstanding. The way their ideas are and as they come to life it's beautiful. It made the wedding look so graceful and Royal. Loved every bit of the decoration. They themselves are so involved with their work, it's really good to see ? ?

My husband and I were planning our wedding from Australia to take place in Chandigarh. A number of months prior to our wedding, we went to Chandigarh and met with The Wedding Umbrella. They portrayed themselves to be a professional wedding dcor company, and assured us that they would work within our budget to deliver on our needs. In the following months, we hired The Wedding Umbrella to work with us, to decorate our sangeet and wedding venues. We agreed on a budget within which we were assured that we could choose any flower arrangement, any furniture (as part of their vast collection), any colour theme and they would also accommodate any dcor ideas that we shared with them, if possible. Our sangeet and wedding was in early December and we started liaising with Shivani and Simran from The Wedding Umbrella in June, allowing plenty of time for our dream wedding to be as planned. Once the deposit was paid, we started to notice the unprofessionalism creeping in. We needed to often follow up more than once even though they committed to timeframes, which they didn?t keep to. We had to repeatedly ask for visuals to be sent to us so we could start confirming our choice of furniture, colour themes, flowers, etc. Although they had promised that they had many ?NRI? clients, their communication was poor and stilted, yet we persevered. We wanted to start finalising our arrangements at least a month prior to the events, however, Shivani started to delay our schedule, stating that they were booked out till 2 weeks prior to the events but not to be concerned as they were still taking on board everything we had sent to them so far. This was alarm bell 1. 2 weeks prior to the events, when my then fianc tried to catch up with them in person, they again delayed our meeting and also wouldn?t bother to reply to my lengthy emails that I had painstakingly written to gain clarification on the details of the events, since we were now so close to the dates. Alarm bell number 2. It was clearly all part of their plan. Approx 5 days prior to the event, Shivani and Simran met with my husband and basically told him that for our budget we were now not able to get most of the choices that we wanted as these were at an ?extra? cost. They also said that there was now a 14% tax on top of our scheduled amount that we had to pay. Shivani stopped picking up my calls, and when I messaged her to tell her that we had a written email from them that taxes were already included in our budget and that all previous emails had told us we could pick any type of flowers, and dcor, she played her trump card and said that she didn?t want to be spoken to in this way and that we should simply pick up our deposit cheque. As you can imagine, 4 days prior to a wedding, being told this, left us in no position to do anything but try and appease her so that we were not left stranded without dcor on our special days. My partner and I, and our families were mortified at the way they had behaved, and once we started to ask around, we started to learn that this was not new and that the Wedding Umbrella was known for being unprofessional. In the end, we didn?t get the dcor we wanted, and were essentially forced to overpay for what we did get. Our wedding was at The Golden Tulip and unfortunately The Wedding Umbrella was one of only 3 vendors that they would allow on site to decorate, as they get 25% commission from their vendors (as told to us by Shivani). We wanted to write this review because if we had seen any similar reviews, we would never have hired The Wedding Umbrella. They were wolves in sheep?s clothing and 2 months after the wedding, I still feel sick at the way we were treated by these vendors. If you are looking to do business with people that behave like common ?tent vaalas? by all means, hire them. But if you are looking to hire a vendor with integrity and humanity, please look elsewhere.
