Amidst all the wedding preparations and other day to day tasks, we also had to do our Wedding choreography preparation, which seemed like a huge task at first. Thankfully we found Taniya, not only is she an incredible choreographer, she is an even better human being. She is a very warm an welcoming person, and so all the sessions with her acted as stress busters in those busy periods. She taught the choreography to us in a very simple and fun way, she also took care of all our wants, we wanted two perform lifts and she added two very beautiful lifts to our performance. Taniya was fantastic from start to finish. Our wedding was international which brought its challenges - we couldn’t all be around to practice in person until very close to the wedding, so she prepared helpful guide videos to each routine and organised Zoom calls across multiple timezones. For foreign guests we requested a change to the steps to make them simpler. None of this was a problem at all, everything was done quickly and smoothly. The dances themselves were perfect, and the videos were easy to digest even for those of us who have never done Bollywood dancing before. Taniya’s coaching catered to a mix of ability levels really well. The strong performers got good details and flourishes whereas those lagging behind were brought up to speed on the basics. Taniya’s handling of large groups of people particularly impressed me. She managed to corral the large group taking part in the flash mob into rehearsing together the night before the Sangeet. The Sangeet was truly magical, one of the best days in our lives and the dances with Taniya’s awesome choreography were the main event. I (a foreigner who had never danced on a stage before) was getting compliments all night and the following days about my dances.

Had an incredible sangeet - all credit to Tanya’s choreography, and get this - our preparation, practice and final event was IN THE SAME WEEK AS TANYA’s OWN WEDDING! Extra props to her dedication and time management! Although we reached out to her only a couple of days before her own wedding, she helped us plan through our practice sessions despite her busy schedule. Our initial request was to help us with a 5-song choreography for just the bride and groom, but it soon snowballed into 5-6 groups that needed help with their choreography. She drove to our venue and patiently waited for the groups to arrive despite significant delay from our end. She added on an extra day of practice sessions in the last minute. Long story short, we got on top of Sangeet choreography really late into our wedding prep, but Tanya helped us navigate the timeline seamlessly! We approached Taniya 3 weeks before our wedding with the condition that we will be able to practice only during weekends because of work commitments . In the first week itself, inspite of us being a total non dancer she made sure we fell in love with the dancing . Thats the best part of learning from Taniya. You will never feel like a non dancer.
