Beware of this place! Me and my fiancé were all set to tie the knot in Dec 2023. We were planning a wedding with 200 guests, and the resort claimed that the management said that they can easily accommodate over 250 people at the property. We were studying in the US, so our families went to check the property. We saw the pictures of the property online. It showed that the property was a 4-star resort online. Hence, we thought the quality of services would be great. On the first visit by family, the staff seemed very friendly and willing to accommodate all our needs such as late night DJ, early check-ins, etc. when our parents visited. Now, let’s go through how things changed after putting down the initial deposit. When we visited the property, we realized that the initial staff had changed. They did not have pictures of any weddings that were organized recently. We were shocked to see the unprofessionalism as this is not something you expect from a 4-star property. The staff was getting annoyed and were extremely rude towards our mothers for asking basic questions like why a certain area is not clean. When asked the question on whether the rooms would be cleaned properly before the event, the woman curtly said that they will not make any false promises. I believe something as basic as room cleaning is too much to ask for. Before booking, the GM sold us a package with decor. We saw the pictures shared over WhatsApp and were very happy with what they were promising. When I asked them to share the numbers of the decorators (after paying the deposit), it still took them 1 month to share details. The LIES they had told us were shocking. The decorators told us that the pictures which were shown to us were real flower decorations with tents to prevent sun, meaning that it would cost at least 7 lakh extra! The decoration covered as part of the package was very basic with artificial flowers, vastly different from the pictures. The hygiene levels at the resort were poor at best. There were dirty tissues lying around in the lobby for hours, curtains and towels covered in stains and food served in old plastic plates. These are not things you expect from a 4-star property. When we asked them why the property was not being cleaned, they said it's because of the peak rush they have been facing. They clean it once a week! Once a week cleaning is low when you have 200 guests staying at the property. We had planned functions starting in the morning 10 AM after discussing with the hotel. Then we found out that the place was hosting another wedding on the day before with over 80% rooms booked. This would mean that the previous guests would not check out by the time our functions began. When addressed, the GM simply shrugged saying that he cannot promise anything now and our guests can check-in by afternoon. There are 3 places at the property where we planned to host functions - the rooftop, banquet hall and the lawn. The staff told our parents that these spaces can accommodate 200+ people easily. However, upon our visit, we found out that only the lawn was enough for 200 people. The rooftop could barely manage 100-120 people in a floating capacity. The banquet could handle 150. They blatantly lied to the families before paying the deposit, and then conveniently backtracked saying that your guests will not attend every function. I fail to understand how a property that was claimed to be a 4-star has such incompetent staff. They had also promised over email that music could be played until late night and then conveniently changed it to 10 PM when addressed in-person. We were truly disappointed with the rude behavior, lies and felt cheated. We could no longer trust the venue now and decided to cancel the wedding. The staff was nonchalant about it as they had already gained profit from us and simply refused to pay the deposit back. Our parents had paid 25% of the wedding budget on this venue already by the time we decided on this. The fact that this property can swallow lakhs of rupees, someone’s hard earned money, and not care about how hurt we felt by them shows that these people are huge cheaters! The reason I share this review is to give advice to all of you to avoid this place. You don’t want the most memorable day of your life to turn into the most horrific memory, like mine did. P.S. The resort is no longer a 4-star property. They were lying in their advertising on that and now have removed it after multiple complaints from guests!
