Let me take you on a flashback to 20 years ago, when I was a child. We used to pass by this beautiful property on our routine commute between the Pink City, Jaipur, and Bharatpur. I vividly remember being fascinated by this property back then and deciding in my child's mind that one day I would visit this property for sure. I got that chance a couple of years later when I was in my teens. Immediately, I fell in love with this property, its vintage charm, and grandeur! (I've always had a soft spot for heritage, perhaps because of a royal bloodline.) After that first visit, this property became our regular pit-stop. After graduation, when the discussion of my marriage became the most beloved topic at the dining table, the idea of getting married at 'Umaid Palace' came up for the very first time. Back then, it was known as 'Umaid Lake Palace.' Fortunately, my family adored (and still does) this magnificent property just as much as I do. And let me add that by then, I hadn't even met or known my better half. So, the correct form of the quote would be: 'I kind of decided on my wedding place way before meeting my better half!' Later, when life made me cross paths with my beloved better half, Dr. Kiran Singh, I proposed to her by saying, 'You'll be walking through the gate of Umaid Palace in a bright red bridal lehenga, and I will be standing right in front of you, smiling, staring straight into your eyes telling you how much I love you! So, will you marry me at Umaid Palace?' Yes... that's exactly how I proposed to her! And guess what, it all happened exactly the way I quoted back then, in the same red bridal lehenga, at the very same Umaid Palace in the winter of 2022 on December 3rd. Before we proceed to the property review, I'd like to mention that although Umaid Palace was always my first choice, we still visited almost every hotel/resort in Rajasthan suitable for a royal wedding we imagined, but no property made an impact on us to the extent Umaid did. So, finally, we followed our hearts to UMAID PALACE! (Properties we visited include Fairmont Jaipur, Alila Fort Bishangarh, Chomu Palace, Tijara Fort, The Vijyaran Palace, Lohagarh Resorts, Jai Mahal Palace Jaipur, Alsisar Palace & Haveli, Laxmi Vilas Palace Bharatpur, Shiv Vilas Resorts Jaipur, etc.) As this is a review for Umaid Palace, let me explain our experience in a few straightforward points. This property is one of the best for getting married in India if you want your wedding to be 'Regal & Royal.' Let me explain why: 1. The property boasts the largest, most beautifully decorated, and well-maintained lawns, capable of catering to a wedding gala dinner for 2000 guests with ease. (Now you can imagine the kind of space those sprawling lawns offer.) 2. They have a very large, clean swimming pool space that is well curated and perfect for the Haldi ceremony. (With decor, this space looks so beautiful.) 3. They offer the best facade for Varmala! (Its only competitors are Umaid Bhawan Jodhpur, Rambagh Palace Jaipur, Laxmi Niwas Palace Bikaner, and very few others.) If curated and planned well, your Varmala moment will look timeless and heavenly! (Ours was exactly as we imagined.) 4. The way the owners have maintained their property is commendable and deserves appreciation. 5. The owners, Mr. Dhananjay and Mr. Abhijay, are gems of people. They are always eager to help and solve even the smallest issues with no discrepancy or ignorance. Both are very responsive and cooperative. 6. The food deserves a separate review; it's that delicious! After tasting their food for more than 10 years, including our full wedding meals for 3 days, I can strongly say they are the best for the taste buds! Not a single guest complained about the food. 7. The staff, though small in numbers, is very warm and helpful. 8. Their back deck, which hosted our Mehendi ceremony. (You can refer to respective image attached to witness its beauty.) 9. The property is huge and well-spread, a rarity nowadays even among the best wedding hotels. For example, Fairmont Jaipur is considered one of the best properties for destination weddings, but with every passing year, they have cramped their property, especially the lawns, to the point where they are now building a new hotel in their own lawns. 10. Umaid is well-connected from Jaipur, Agra, and now from Delhi & Gurugram too (the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is passing just 1 km away). Ideal Venue for Boutique Destination Weddings This venue is excellent for functions. We had an amazing experience here. We loved the ambiance and the garden was super spacious. Very nice staff as well. We loved the food and even the decoration was beautifully done. We did our haldi at the poolside, sangeet at the patio, mehndi at the deck & pheras at the baradari. The food arrangements by Umaid Palace were terrific, also the services rendered by the housekeeping staff and the front office staff were really prompt. This is a family run resort and the owners are present at the property 24/7, this really makes a huge difference.

Perfect Heritage Resort for Intimate Destination Weddings We had a lovely stay, the hotel is very authentic and beautiful. Exploring the palace is a whole experience by itself, there are musicians playing the traditional folk music in different areas of the hotel. The service is outstanding and staff are very friendly. The reception was amazing, they greeted us with flowers and live music when we arrived. The food arrangements by Umaid Palace were terrific, also the services rendered by the housekeeping staff and the front office staff were really prompt. We chose Umaid as our wedding venue on 3-4 Nov.The staff there was quite supportive. Everyone like the hospitality. The property is perfect (lush green, spacious, royal touch) for a picture perfect wedding ceremony. It is located right on the highway which made it quite convenient for the guests to reach here. All guests appraised our decision of choosing Umaid as our wedding destination.

We had gone through weeks of recee to find a property we (my fiance and me) truly loved and which checked all boxes as well, a unexpected change in plan lead us to Umaid Lake and we loved it in a heartbeat. Dhananjay & Abhijay were accommodating and prompt, they heard all our expectations and requirements and executed well in their capacity. The property is beautiful and well maintained and we, along with all our guests loved the overall experience.

It’s a best option if you want a royal wedding without burning your pocket. It has different venue for all your functions, which can occupy 200 people easily.

They gave our wedding dates to someone else without informing us. And now m, not even giving us refund of the advance we paid in lacs. We booked @UmaidLakePalace for our wedding on 20th and 21st November 2021. While we were having discussions with them regarding the covid scenario and were not sure about the number of guests allowed in Rajasthan. But we clearly told them not to cancel our booking in our last conversation. Because we were waiting for lockdown rules to relax. Without even informing us, They released our wedding date and gave it to someone else. And not even refunding our advance amount. Me and fiancé have already been through a hard time during covid. Lost family members during covid itself is a disaster we have faced. Every single penny of that amount is hard earned money of our parents. How someone can run business like this by keeping lacs of someone's hard earned money without giving any service. This is a clear case of fraudulent. In the name of heritage property they are stealing money from people whi are not from Rajasthan and then booking Local weddings for same dates without informing or discussing with both parties.

Umaid Lake Palace is a beautiful heritage resort & spa located less than an hour’s drive from Jaipur centre, spacious rooms, and 4 other different venues in the property for us to conduct functions made it a very easy choice. Because of such varieties in one venue every function had a different feel to it. We had three outdoor functions all in different parts of the venue. For example the pheras happened outdoor in the beautifully carved baradari surrounded by Mughal lawns & fountains part of the resort. Also one other plus that Umaid had was the amazing food it had to offer, with 6 functions and every function boasting of a unique and equally good spread just made the experience even better ! Special thanks to Team Umaid for their level of hospitality and for giving me and all the guests a wonderful experience at their resort. Everything was taken care of beautifully and they left no stone unturned in making my wedding a memorable one!

After visiting lots of different resorts and properties across North India, we chose Umaid Lake Palace for its sheer beauty, the rajput architecture, luxury rooms and preparedness for weddings. We were looking for a property where we could host all of our 100 guests at one place, was picturesque, had good food & service, Umaid was all of this and more. The beautifully manicured gardens at The Umaid just blew our mind and we were sure that this is where we wanted to get married. The different terrains & the good rooms of the resort also made sure we had enough setups for photographs. During the wedding time too, the service was prompt and the team tried their best to accommodate our requests.
