Fun delhi wedding with an effervescent bride

Three of our favourite things in this wedding- the brides mehendi outfit and floral wreath hairdo, the adorable 'mini bride' that's her niece, and the story of how destiny made this couple meet with just 3 weeks to spare. There is this infectious, fun, laugh out loud vibe about this wedding that makes you want to be a part of all their celebrations whether clicking a selfie on stage or jumping in the air for a photo op - shot by Think Tonk Photography
Meet Kunal and Kanupriya
Kanupriya recounts " I was studying at The Culinary Institute of America since 2011 and then working in NYC. I had quit my job and was ready to come back to India , and with three weeks left to leave, I ran into Kunal who had just moved to the States through his job. We consider it destiny more than anything else, in those three weeks we met, dated and were sure deep down that there was something special"The Mehendi
Love the brides floral hair wreath and the typewriter with the 'Leave a message for the bride and groom'The Wedding
From the bride: While it was mutually decided that we wanted to have the quintessential Punjabi wedding, I wanted to make sure I was involved in the creativity of everything . For the Mehendi, I was adamant on having a day event as I feel daylight gives the best photographs (We so agree!). So on a beautiful Friday morning we had a mela-theme mehendi with everything from candyfloss to chaat to jhoola to choori waala to rickshaws ! I made sure we had all the fun elements to keep people engaged. Since I was meeting Kunal after a good 6 months I wanted a special performance dedicated to him, but my friends and family were pretty enthusiastic and helped us put a full-fledged show together.
Kunal was in India for the Roka in June and had finalized his Sherwani then -picking an unconventional red with a blue stole. Since he was dressing in red I was sure I didn't want to do a complete red outfit, but add more color in the form of a beautiful buttery yellow lehenga with turquoise and emerald detailing. For my mehendi I was sure I had to wear a printed vintage silk fabric high waisted skirt, I went to every nook and corner in Delhi and I bumped into this beautiful silk dress at I'm Design by Prateek and Priyanka. They helped me to bring to life the outfit I dreamt of; It was my most favorite look amongst the three events we had.
