Worst experience ever..Please don't go for this banquet ever. They have been troubling us in this COVID situation for the past one year after taking the advance payment. Initially I booked this Venue for the first time for evening function in April 2020, however due to COVID situation the function got postpone. When we approached later on he refused for the evening slot. They constantly pressurized for day function and flatly refused for evening function saying that they don't have slots and booking amount of 50,000 will not be refunded. All my booking related conversation like decor, menu etc happened with the owner but once the advance of 50000 was deposited in Feb 2020, the owner stopped talking to us and always diverted to his manager. And when we talked to the managers , they constantly acted ignorant of every prior commitments saying that " I am not aware of previous conversations and commitment". The manager was changed twice and everytime I had to go through the same response that " I am not aware of the previous commitment. I requested owner to meet me in person as he was the only person aware of my booking and event details. But he never met me. Somehow I managed to proceed and went ahead for April 2021. This time as per COVID guidelines maximum 50 guests were allowed and so we restricted the guest list to 50. Now the worst happened, royal green banquets doubled my per plate charges from 1250 to 3000. It was such a shocking experience. I am quoting some of the owner's sentence here. " 3000 per plate are our revised charges" "You will not be getting any other banquet right now in such a short notice" "You can cancel but booking amount of 50000 is non-refundable" "You bring 500 guest then we can reduce the charges" Finally I had to bear the loss of 50000 and I am still looking for another venue in such a short notice as my other bookings are already lined up. This has been such a devastating experience for my family. They made use of COVID restrictions to make profit out of it. We already are struggling amidst such tough situation. My wedding was already delayed by 1 year. Somehow I wanted to do it now. But the situation was made even tough for me by such an opportunistic behaviour of Royal Green Banquet. Even just one month prior to my April-2021 function they asked us to readjust to day function as they got another bigger booking for the same date. When we refused for that, they asked us to shift to some another venue. When I enquired for my booking amount, the owner said to get it from the other party (bigger party) and convince them.

Dear Mam, We apologize that you had to go through such an experience. According to our records, your initial booking was for April 2020 in which 50000 was deposited as advance. We have everything on file and the booking form is also signed by you agreeing to all the terms and conditions listed in them. We make sure nothing is hidden from the guests while booking the venue. We gave you our best rates of that time of ₹1250/- per plate on a minimum guarantee of 150 plates. As everyone knows that according to company standards across the hospitality sector that rates per plate for any hotel, banquets or lawn fluctuate according to the number of guests you give us as guarantee while booking. For instance if your number of plates go up, per plate rates would come down, even lower that 1250/- and vice-versa in your case if you reduce the number of plates from 150 to 50, the cost would definitely go up because we (or any hotel or banquet) have our fixed cost that goes really up. Also, we are a law-abiding company which is following each and every Govt. protocol and COVID-19 guidelines. Having said that, we never denied doing any event for 50 pax, and we are still happy to do your event but as I explained above the costs would go up. We understand that this pandemic is a tough time for each one of us including you and also for us running hospitality business risking our staff’s life at risk amid these dangerous times and putting your events as our priority. As you said that we tried to re-adjust your amount since we were getting a bigger party. Mam, we knew that you were confused and were thinking to switch your venue so we tried to help you by mediating you with another party only after you showed some interest over the calls and whatsapp. Also, any advance given to book any event is non-refundable everywhere and you knowingly signed the terms and conditions form. Last but not the least, we are here to build relationships first and money later. Like last time we gave you an extension of more than a year. This time too (if in case you don’t want to hold this ring-ceremony with us) we are giving you a credit note which will allow you to adjust your advance amount to any future function for next 1 year i.e. 22 April 2022.
