A Lotus-Inspired Wedding In Chandigarh That’s Elegant, Soulful & Oh-So-Dreamy!

BY Sakshi | 22 Oct, 2025 | 485 views | 5 min read

Some weddings just hit different, like every detail was touched by magic. This Chandigarh wedding was exactly that! Think forest-inspired décor, lotus motifs, and a pastel dreamscape that felt straight out of a fairytale, all brought to life by the incredible team at The Select★ 4.9 . From timeless florals to soulful styling, this wedding beautifully blended modern elegance with deep-rooted emotion. The couple’s story spanned generations (literally... their families had known each other for eight decades!), and the way it all came together felt nothing short of destiny. With the WedMeGood App making planning a total breeze and The Select turning vision into reality, this celebration was equal parts ethereal, emotional, and effortlessly chic!

Meet Divyashri & Madhavrao

"Our families had known each other for generations — his grandfather’s chacha and my grandmother’s massi were married eight decades ago! Though he’s Maharashtrian and I’m a mix of Punjabi, Maharashtrian, and Rajput roots, our worlds kept subtly overlapping — my mom was even his first kindergarten teacher. But we grew up apart after I moved to Mumbai at eight.

For him, the story began in 2019, when he saw me in court and, as he puts it, “just knew.” Years later, in early 2024, fate (and our moms!) stepped in again. I had just returned from Boston, and what started as a meeting to discuss criminal law turned into hours of effortless, soul-stirring conversation. It felt like two old souls finally finding home in each other.

For him, it was destiny fulfilled; for me, love at first conversation. I cancelled my return ticket — and even skipped a UN conference — because I knew this was where I was meant to be. From that moment on, everything unfolded like it was meant to", the bride tells us.

About The Wedding

Our wedding took place on November 12, 2024. The vision for my wedding was to create a space that felt both ethereal and deeply personal — a floral, forest-inspired setting brought to life with soft modern Indian touch. The theme was rooted in the lotus, symbolizing purity, resilience, and beauty, woven into the décor in subtle yet striking ways. Whites and pastel hues dominated the palette, adding a sense of timelessness, while lush greenery
As a modern Indian bride, I wanted the styling and atmosphere to reflect tradition with a contemporary twist — understated yet breathtaking, graceful yet fresh. Every detail, from the florals to the aisle, was designed to feel like stepping into a dreamscape where nature, love, and culture came together seamlessly. The result was a wedding that felt like an extension of who we are — classic, soulful, and modern in the most organic way.

Wedding Planning: The Select★ 4.9

Shikha and Michael were truly the dream team. From day one, they felt less like planners and more like family — calm, kind, patient, and always just a step ahead of what we needed. No detail was too small, no request too big. They didn’t just plan our wedding; they understood our story and translated it into every flower, light, and moment with such heart that it felt like pure magic. What set them apart was their intuition — they just got us, even when we couldn’t fully articulate our vision. Through all the highs and lows, they became our biggest support system, offering not just their expertise but their strength and warmth. Thanks to them, our wedding wasn’t just perfectly executed — it was deeply personal, emotional, and unforgettable. Shikha and Michael don’t just plan weddings; they create experiences that stay with you forever.

Venue: Forest Hill Resort

Forest Hill Resort is a truly picturesque and classic venue — lush, green, and serene, it felt like the perfect canvas for our wedding. The arrangements were beautiful, the caterers exceeded expectations, and dealing with the owners, Mr. Naveen Sidhu and his team, was a fabulous experience. Mr. Karan, the manager, was extremely helpful and hands-on throughout, which we really appreciated. That said, the washroom facilities could definitely be improved, and a disappointing moment came when Gokul’s team, who the resort promotes, suddenly hiked rates at the last minute — even asking for 8 lakhs extra on the morning of my wedding for a mirror aisle we had already agreed upon, which was very sad. Still, the resort itself was everything we could have wished for — elegant, natural, and unforgettable.

Sunny Dhiman is a true celebrity photographer — incredibly talented yet grounded and kind. Beyond his unmatched artistry, it was his compassion and calm that stood out most. With my mother hospitalized during the wedding, I wasn’t in the best frame of mind, but Sunny Sir and his amazing team were my biggest support system — patient, understanding, and genuinely caring. Along with my planners, Shikha ji and Michael ji, they became like family. His wife, the quiet force behind the magic, adds just as much heart to their work. Every frame he captured radiated warmth and soul, and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to document the most meaningful days of my life.
