Gorgeous decor? Check! Stunning location? Check! Pretty outfits? Double check! This was a dream wedding. Prianka and Nico got hitched in Thailand amongst their family and friends, and it was a grand celebration that lasted three days. They had two weddings, both equally picturesque, where Prianka donned traditional outfits for both the ceremonies. She looked ethereal in her white gown and ravishing in a traditional red lehenga. PK Suri Worldwide Studios captured this wedding in such a unique manner that we couldn't help but zoom in and out of those to see all the details! The candid, the adorable and the memorable, Parikshit captured it all in his lens! So, what are you waiting for? Scroll down and see for yourself, because we bet you'll be bookmarking this all!
Meet Prianka & Nico
Prianka tells us how they met, in a very literary setting, and how Nico planned a grand proposal for her, "We met at Pavement cafe on Gainsborough street in 2012 in Boston, Massachusetts while we both were attending Northeastern University. I was reading Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice when he sat down right next to me. That was the day I found my very own Mr. Darcy.
Nico proposed on a Gondola in Venice! He loves making big gestures, while I believe in showing love in everyday things."
The White Wedding & Reception
The Indian Wedding
From The Bride:
We believe love is something that endures and still rises above. It’s easy to fall in love and be with someone when things go according to plan. For me, love lies in the moments where things don’t go as planned, when they are a mess. It's in the moments where we could let go, but we continue to hold on. Nico is the person I want to have not just the great easy times with, but also the person I want to have the hard times with. And when I knew this, when we both were certain about this, we decided to tie the knot!
So, I am half Indian, and Nico is French so we had two ceremonies, on two consecutive days. The western wedding ceremony was Friday, June 28th and the Indian ceremony was on Saturday, June 29th. The Pheras ceremony felt like the day we got married for me while the western ceremony is when Nico says we got married. Still have to decide which day we want to choose to celebrate our anniversary.
It was actually a three day celebration! Thursday was Havana themed Welcome Donner. Friday was western wedding ceremony and Saturday was the Indian day - with the mehendi, sangeet, baraat and pheras all squeezed into one day.
The biggest issue we encountered was the weather. A month before the wedding we started getting reports of heavy rains. It was something we were aware of, as the rainy season starts around June/July but we were getting reports of torrential rain! We were so worried, we even planned to have most of the events inside but by some miracle the clouds opened up and it did not rain a drop for three days.
Parikshit Suri and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. He, himself is such an easy going funny humble man - he made all the shoots fun - especially the shots with my bridesmaids!
Nicolas and I both planned the wedding, with the help from our parents, and our planners. The I Do Etc team really did most of the work. Nicolas gave them an idea of what we imagined for ourselves, and the I Do team transformed it into something even better.
Anjali Bhasker did my makeup and Vishnu Witsanu did my hair for 5 events and I cannot recommend a more perfect duo to prepare a bride for her special moment, or moments! There were 5 events, over three days, and they gave me a more beautiful and different look for each of them!
