Shruti and Shubham Torani’s story began at a Diwali party at a close friend’s home, before their paths crossed across cities and countries and eventually led them to the Magnetic Fields Festival in Jaipur. It was there, during Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s “Teri Ban Nahi Lagda Dil Mera”, that things finally clicked. And then came Shruti’s bridal wardrobe. From a Patola-inspired Mehendi look bursting with mirrors and tassels to a crimson heirloom-style lehenga covered in intricate zardozi, here’s the bridal breakdown.

The Mehendi Look Was Pure Carnival Energy

For the Mehendi, Shruti wore the Rangraaga Patola Sharara Set and it couldn’t have been a better match for the vibrant “Mehendi Carnival” theme. The pure silk ensemble featured a sculpted corset blouse and a voluminous sharara, covered in hand-embroidered mirror work, sequins and digital prints inspired by colourful traditional Patola motifs. The statement dupatta was the star of the show. It was maximalist without losing its playful spirit.

The deep neckline of the corset blouse was left bare, letting a pair of statement traditional earrings take centre stage. She carried the matching Rangraaga Patola Parrot Potli, complete with coordinating prints, hand embroidery and dangling tassels.

The Braid + Parandi Combo? So Good.

For beauty, Shruti went deliberately relaxed. Her hair was styled into a loose, voluminous braid with soft tendrils framing her face, creating an easy contrast against the heavily embellished outfit. Fabric parandi-inspired hair accessories and fabric kaleeras brought in even more colour and texture, making the beauty look feel like an extension of the Mehendi styling rather than an afterthought.

The Sufi Night Look Was Midnight Glam

For the Sufi night, Shruti stepped out in a rich royal blue skirt set that felt made for an after-dark celebration. The full-sleeved blouse was covered in intricate work from neckline to hem, with the same ornate detailing continuing across the sleeves. Paired with a fluid, floor-skimming skirt in the same deep blue, the silhouette felt glamorous without looking overly traditional.

Then Came The Crimson Bridal Moment

For the wedding, Shruti switched gears without losing the signature Torani maximalism. She wore a custom bespoke crimson Sindoori Red bridal lehenga with a classic silhouette and the kind of craftsmanship that makes an outfit feel destined to become an heirloom. The heavy lehenga featured meticulous zardozi embroidery, intricately worked shell-trimmed borders and custom playful tassels.

The rich crimson palette brought all the traditional bridal drama, while the shell details and tassels gave the classic silhouette a distinctly contemporary personality. We loved how she paired it with a traditional green chooda and stunning jewellery. The open hair with soft waves was another addition to her classic taste!
