Temperatures are dropping, streets are getting foggy and for you, wedding bells are ringing! Here is the ultimate list of Dos and Don’ts for a winter wedding this year that you need to keep in mind. Simple stuff, but paying heed to these small things helps.

Do experiment with colour!

Do wrap yourself

Although you want to look gorgeous on your wedding day, chances are that during the shopping you’re going to forget about the freezing temperatures. If you’re feeling chilly during your wedding it’ll spoil your day, so opt for a velvet shawl or sparkly cardigan for a touch of fabulousness! Or use a heavier dupatta - Benarasi or embroidered, whichever you prefer. In short, off-shoulders and bikini blouses are out. You just don't want to look uncomfortable.

Do have winter-inspired foods

There is no place for ice-lollies in the freezing winter reception! Opt for hot-chocolate or kashimiri kahwa tea as a welcome drink. Before you book your venue, get every guarantee from your venue about access, mobility, heating, lighting, walk ways for guests just-in-case of inclement weather conditions.

Do talk to your photographer

It gets dark much earlier in the winter so adjust your photo schedule for more light. Make sure that you build in time to your day to have those all-important shots in natural light. or wake up early morning. Light is important, days are shorter - you get the drift?

Do pay attention to your groom’s clothing too

For grooms a velvet blazer is ideal. It's a nice thick fabric which will keep the guys warm, plus is perfectly on-trend. Make sure both of you are dressed for the weather.

Choose winter wedding favours. Blankets or pashminas, sparklers, cookies, cute gloves, candy canes or little bottles of Baileys are all cute and doable winter wedding favor options.

Do factor in delays

Smogs or fogs on the road can lead up to delays for your guests. So give enough space between ceremonies!
