What started as a college crush (and a bold first move!) turned into a globe-trotting love story- and eventually, a wedding that felt straight out of a movie. Set against the dreamy backdrop of Mykonos, Nikita & Rishi’s destination wedding was a perfect mix of Indian traditions, island romance, and effortless fun. From Greek white nights and fairy-lit Sangeets to sunset vows overlooking the Aegean Sea, every celebration reflected their personalities- loud and joyful, calm and meaningful, and completely in sync. If cinematic, sun-kissed weddings are your vibe, this one deserves a permanent spot on your moodboard.

Meet Nikita and Rishi

Nikita and Rishi met back in 2015 in college (with Rishi being two years senior), but sparks really flew in 2016 after a summer of flirty Snapchat exchanges- yes, Nikita made the first move, and she still reminds him of it. After campus romance, long distance, and eventually moving to New York together, they built a life full of travel, friendships, and adventure. Fast forward to February 2024, when Rishi casually suggested breakfast on a ski trip in Zermatt, Switzerland- only for it to turn into a helicopter ride around the Matterhorn and a mountaintop proposal. Casual, right? Their personalities—Nikita loud and extroverted, Rishi calm and thoughtfully played out beautifully across every wedding event.

About The Wedding
Opposites in the best way, with Nikita’s bold, extroverted energy balancing Rishi’s calm, thoughtful presence, their celebrations unfolded as a beautiful blend of emotion, fun, and effortless island luxury. The festivities kicked off with a Greek-inspired White Party welcome dinner complete with live music, plate smashing, and dancing under the stars. A vibrant, sun-soaked Mehendi followed, where traditional Indian elements met coastal Mykonos tones, while the Sangeet turned into a magical night under fairy lights, with the couple’s initials projected onto the mountains behind the stage. The Haldi was intimate and joyful, bathed in marigold hues and Mediterranean sunshine, before the wedding day arrived in all its glory. A high-energy baraat set the tone, leading into an emotional sunset ceremony overlooking the Aegean Sea, where Nikita and Rishi exchanged vows under a glowing sky. The celebrations flowed seamlessly into golden-hour cocktails and a candlelit reception filled with heartfelt speeches, laughter, and dancing late into the night—wrapping up a wedding that felt deeply personal, visually stunning, and full of soul.

I cannot even begin to explain how amazing, professional, and awesome WeddingNama was. I wanted a team that could capture my wedding like an epic Bollywood movie but still keep things fun and candid rather than serious or posed, and that’s exactly what they did. We aren’t a big “photoshoot” couple but they made everything feel natural, like we were just hanging out and friends were taking photos around us. I loved that the team is led by a powerful boss woman. Ankita is incredible and really knows her craft. They were my absolute favourite vendors and I’m so glad we brought them all the way from India to Mykonos. They also delivered so many beautiful photos and videos within a week. People are already obsessed with the content. They mix tradition and modern vibes so well. They listened to our style, kept everything light and candid, and captured all the fun and love perfectly.
