#WeddingGoals: Kresha Bajaj's personalised lehenga showcases her love story!

BY Latha Sunadh | 23 Jun, 2016 | 14705 views | 4 min read

We're suckers for a good love story. And if it's told interestingly well, we go crazy. That's why Kresha Bajaj's lehenga is giving us all kinds of #lehengagoals #weddinggoals and #squadgoals all rolled into one. As we followed Kresha Bajaj's most popular hashtag #VanGoneKre on Instagram, we were filled with wonder, a slick, sophisticated do, intimate moments caught beautifully on these filters and a super awesome lehenga.

Kresha, the owner of the label, Koesch wanted a fairytale lehenga that showcased the couple's journey pictorially. And boy, was it a beauty? In gold and white, this ensemble was a treat for the eye. It was packed with beautiful moments where the couple celebrated special days, milestones, their loves and their likes. We love the details, every single one of them.

“As I knew my wedding lehenga would be something I would only wear once, I decided to make it a piece of artwork that I would later frame,” says Bajaj. “In order to make it into a special piece of art I decided to embroider my entire lehenga with Vanraj and my story—our milestones, the proposal, and all our important moments up until the wedding. I used traditional embroidery techniques and materials, and all around the lehenga you will see hidden elements sewn into the garment. Our names are embroidered into the garments, pictures of our story framed with embroidery and finished with a hem of jumping dolphins, which was the beginning of our story as we worked together on a protest against cetacean captivity.” says Kresha about her lehenga in an interview with Vogue.in.

For her wedding, Kresha decided to design all her outfits under her brand @koecsh and the reason the lehenga was so elaborate was because she decided to make it a piece of artwork that she would later frame. Oh look at the picture of her lehenga with those pretty Guiseppe Zanottis peeping out? Gorg na?

"When I told my family I was going to make all my own clothes under my brand Koecsh, they weren’t surprised, but at the same time they urged me to reconsider. Knowing the kind of control freak I am, they would rather have me relax and get spa treatments instead of taking on that burden. However it was something I felt strongly about and I started conceptualising my own clothes" adds Kresha as she talks about the journey of her lehenga with @missmalini. The moment from her proposal in Maldives was embroidered into the kali that showed jumping dolphins at the hem! And, there is a random chevron with the couple's names embroidered. :)

The rest of the ceremony and wedding details were so avant-garde and unique. The centrepieces made of fruits and exotic flowers.

The Origami cranes with pastel-hued cushions were all about summer and its precious love for nature.

The bride's most intimate moments were put up on Instagram, this is one of them. Awwww!!!

The Mint and Lilac Mehendi outfit was just too pretty for words. The way Kresha wore it without too much jewellery and fuss-free hair, was admirable!

The Bvlgari-inspired jhumki earrings are our favourite - would you look at the affection! We love such candids.

kreshabajaj11

The genius that she is, Kresha designed this pastel mint lehenga for her mum, so amazing!

kreshabajaj05

Would you look at Kresha's sister lilac outfit? Just so summery and chic! And those summer braids are our favourite look of the year!

kreshabajaj14

For the Mehndi, Kresha wanted something very pretty and elegant, something easy for her to move around in so inspired by the guava gardens, she created this @koecsh organza lehenga that has birds on floral vines with mirror work.

kreshabajaj16

Not just that, Kresha also created this bada saab look for her husband Vanraj. It's a powder blue silk Kurta and an embroidered Bundi with trees and birds.

kreshabajaj15

Well-matched these two are, don't you think? Kresha's Jewelry was designed by @vanrajzaveri. Makeup & hair by ace makeup artists, @namratasoni and @artinayar.

The floral curtain backdrop is the best, look how it compliments the bride's lehenga. So chic!

This Sangeet outfit was a great addition to her wedding trousseau, that midnight blue is such a gorg hue!

kreshabajaj07

Look at that ensemble and to think it's the bride who designed it herself!

The wedding venue was so beautiful! In all beige and muted gold, it was such a delight to see!

This father-daughter picture is one-in-a-million, it shows all the love these two share. Also, we are loving her dad's pagdi hue, quite trendy we must say!
