But would you choose a velvet blouse? Are questions like, "would it work?" Can you do embroidery on a velvet blouse? etc running through your mind? Well, we have answers for all that and more for you brides who want to pair a Kanjeevaram with a velvet blouse but need some ideas on the how.

A plain contrast wedding blouse paired with a rich Kanjeevaram saree is perfect. You cannot go wrong with this choice. Alternately you could add a delicate border at the end of the sleeve for a slight touch of glam.

Check out this gorgeous velvet blouse design. It is plain for most part and has some embroidery or embellishments done on part of the sleeves. This looks really nice and surely would not outshine your wedding saree.

If you want to add an element of your saree to your velvet blouse, the best thing is to add sleeves with the rich border. We love how these two brides have chosen to do so and have done it with two completely different designs, and made it work.

The elaborate velvet puff sleeves that has a contrast sleeve attached or the zari sleeves with work on the ends, both are wow!!

Now let us talk about an embellished velvet bridal blouse for your Kanjeevaram saree. Check with your designer if they can do a velvet blouse cuz it needs different machinery. (I did this and had to check with a whole bunch of people). Do not go OTT with the embellishments if you decide the fabric to be velvet.

Motifs slightly bigger but spaced out, pearl or bead work with heavy work portrayed as a sleeve border all gives fantastic results.

Even choosing a contrast patch border is  a total win-win.

Plan when you would like to wear your velvet blouse. If you are going to be in front of the havan for long then you can choose it for a different function. Since it is a heavy fabric do not go overboard with the embellishments. Make sure it fits just fine too. These are the know hows for pairing a velvet blouse with your Kanjeevaram Pattu.
