I had booked my bridal treatment with Amaara one month prior to my wedding. At the time of the booking, the staff was very courteous and accommodating. However, when the days of the ceremonies arrived, I was shocked at their behaviour. I had to get my hair styled by them for my Sangeet and Wedding (both on different days). I had planned on doing my makeup myself with the help of my sister. I had my Mehendi ceremony in the afternoon and the Sangeet at night on the same day. Since my Mehendi had not dried in time, my sister called up Amaara to find out if it's okay if I do my makeup (aided by my sister) while my hair styling is going on. They agreed and so I dressed up and went to the parlour and did as planned. One hour after I had left the parlour (just as I entered the Sangeet venue), I got a text from the manager, Akshita, saying that the next day (wedding day) I will need to come alone and that they will not allow anyone else into the parlour. I found this quite strange and called her immediately but there was no response to the multiple phone calls that I was having to make while my own Sangeet was going on. The next day, I called them first thing in the morning. They said that it's their policy to not allow anyone other than the bride into the hair section. I asked them why I was not informed of these policies when I was making the booking - no response. I explained that like any bride I will be wearing my bridal lehenga and will need someone to help me with the multiple bags carrying my jewellery, dupatta, shoes etc etc. which are all to be worn after the hair styling - no response. I explained that I will need someone along with me to atleast give me a second opinion on my hair styling - no response. They stuck to weird, sudden policy and cancelled my appointment AN HOUR BEFORE I needed to get dressed for my wedding. All for bringing one additional person with me?? Which, by the way, is allowed EVERYWHERE in cases of bridal treatments! While I found another parlour withing an hour, I would sincerely warn all the to-be brides out there to not book for your special day with Amaara. On the D-day, you want a parlour that understands the stresses of the bride and is willing to accommodate and make life simpler for her, not stress her out even more over ridiculous, cooked-up issues and have the audacity to cancel her bridal booking an hour before!
